“TWENTY-ONE” FAMOUS ALIBIS FOR NETWORK MARKETERS
“TWENTY-ONE” FAMOUS ALIBIS FOR NETWORK MARKETERS
Those that do not succeed have one trait in common they have all the reasons why they never achieve. They always have a reason for their lack of achievement. Alibis cannot be used for money. The world only wants to know if you have ever achieved success.
I borrowed these 21 from Dr Hill for those that feel the need. As you read the list, examine yourself carefully, and see how many of these alibis, if any, are your own. If you find that you own any join a “Mental Preparedness” group and learn how to replace excuses with accomplishments.
IF I didn’t have a wife and family . . .
IF I had money . . .
IF I had a good education . . .
IF I could get a job . . .
IF times were better . . .
IF other people understood me . . .
IF I did not fear what “THEY” would say . . .
IF I had been given a chance . . .
IF other people didn’t “have it in for me” . . .
IF I were only younger . . .
IF I had been born rich . . .
IF I had the talent that some people have . . .
IF I dared assert myself . . .
IF I only had embraced past opportunities . . .
IF I could save some money . . .
IF the boss only appreciated me . . .
IF I only had somebody to help me . . .
IF my family understood me . . .
IF I could just get started . . .
IF I were only free . . .
IF I could just get a “break” . . .
IF I hadn’t failed . . .
IF I only knew how . . .
IF I didn’t have so many worries . . .
IF I were sure of myself . . .
IF luck were not against me . . .
IF I did not have to work so hard . . .
IF I only had a business of my own . . .
IF other people would only listen to me . . .
IF I had the courage to see myself as I really am, I would find out what is wrong with me, and correct it, then I might have a chance to profit by my mistakes.
Excuses are just a way that we capitulate to our fears. We can justify lack of action and effort in this manner and no one can then say are not a winner even though we never succeed.

Huzzah!
I totally agree. I had a really rough day today. Made me feel crappy and question why I'm doing what I'm doing, but I believe there is a reason for everything, and "that which does not kill me, only makes me stronger," so I'm keeping my head up.
Thanks for writing this article,
Kate
Sounds Like the Murphy Committee
I totally agree.
This resonated with an audio I heard today of a presentation by the great Jerry Clark. Remember Murphy's Law? Jerry's concept is that there must be a committee to make everything go wrong like that (how do I make a tongue-in-cheek smilie?). The bottom line is that every excuse you've ever heard is something that other successful networkers have gone through as well...so they can't be the real reasons.
"Excuses are just a way that we capitulate to our fears. We can justify lack of action and effort in this manner and no one can then say are not a winner even though we never succeed." You hit the nail on the head there.
Whatever you think is the reason behind the excuses, the bottom line is that it comes down to something that exists in the six inches between the ears. I guarantee it's always about a personal development issue. I'd go further and say that the opportunity to receive an education in self-empowerment is one of the highest benefits of this industry...worth more in the long run than even the money.
