2 of the Biggest Mistakes of Entrepreneurs

Ok, so today we're going to look at 2 of the Biggest Mistakes that most of your prospects or even business partners make that casuse them to FAIL when getting started in a new Home Based Business and how YOU can help them avoid these thoughts like the plague.

After you read this post, you should be way ahead of those who will continually fall into these traps and be well on your way to much more success.

The 2 Biggest Mistakes of Home Business Entrepreneurs are:

#1- They tell themselves the wrong story.

#2 - They allow the same reason that they are looking to start a new business, be the excuse why they don't get started.

Let's examine.

#1 - The only thing that stops people from achieving huge success, is the story that they tell themselves about why they cannot do it.

I don't know enough.

I am not smart enough.

I don't have the skills.

I don't have the time.

I don't have the money.

I don't know, I don't have, I'm not...you get my drift?

This is a story that they've been telling themself for years, if not decades and sadly enough, they believe it.

So to them, it's true.

And no matter how much they think they want to change, until they change their story, they will never change anything about themselves, their business or their life.

Now that's a SAD story...

#2 - They allow the same reason that they are looking to start a new business, be the excuse why they don't.

For example - a person says, "I don't have enough money. I want to start a home based business."

So they do some research and find out that it will cost them $500 to get started. And then here comes that excuse and they say, "I want to start a home based business because I know that it could provide me with a lot more money, but I just don't have enough money to get started".

Another person says, "I don't spend enough quality time with my family or free time for myself. I want to start a home based business because I know it can provide me more free time."

So they start looking at different opportunities, but don't join any, because...you guessed it...they say, "I want to start a business because I know that it could provide me a lot more free time in my life to do the things I really want to do , but I can't get started because I just don't have enough time."

One more... Perhaps even you might be saying, "I want to start a business because I'm afraid of what the economy is going to do. I'm afraid that I might lose my job. I'm afraid that I might not have enough money to provide for myself and my family and I'm afraid that I could lose my home if I can't pay my bills or mortgage."

So, you begin investigating how you can start a home based business so that you don't have to live with all that constant fear, and sure enough, you don't, because you begin to feel the fear set in and then the story comes and then the silent excuse that only you know to be true...you become afraid.

So let's recap:

The 2nd biggest mistake people looking to start a home based business make, is that they allow the same reason they are looking to get started, be the exact same excuse that they don't.

Do you see the trap here?

It's all in the mind of the person making the excuse.

Truth is, you cannot solve a problem with the same mindset that it took to create it.

So, in the future, if you are looking to start a new home based business, make sure to tell yourself that you can be successful, and then, when it comes down to your reasons why, do not allow yourself to believe the story, about why you can't, shouldn't or wouldn't do it.

You can do whatever you set your mind to.

All it takes is to re-program your thinking, get aligned with a great mentor and a great system and if you are willing to be coached and then put forth the effort by doing what other successful people are doing, you can be, do and have whatever you are looking for.

Makes Complete Sense

Aaron,

Simply stated, I find that people come from one of two mindsets ...

ABUNDANCE or LACK

One will "make" you ... one will "break" you.

I want to commend you on your article.  It's exemplary!

Not looking behind.....

I entered the online business industry like a lost kid in a theme park....I didn't know what was what, and who was who. I just wanted to make money. Everyone promised I could GRQ, but those are the ones who are taking advantage of newbies.

Newbies don't know anything about mindset. Some marketers don't know about mindset! Or understand it completely at least. When it comes to setting goals in online marketing......and seeking success....it's just that.....seeking success. People seek out problems that could arise from carrying out plans. And some people never plan.....because of their excuse they've told themselves over and over again. After they fail.....then they want to cry out "scam", when it was the individual the whole time who failed themselves.

I've came a long way and I'm not looking behind me. I see the end......SUCCESS.

Creating life with intention

Aaron,

So true with creating a new mindset! Sometimes we or our minds can be our own worst enemy.

In the words of an MLM great leader, Art Manville, "it must be a willful determination." Each and every day you must get yourself into the right frame of mind. It won't just happen on it's own! You can achieve this through prayer, visualization, meditation or whatever you need to do to get your day off to the right start with a right frame of mind.  Creating your life with intention.

"You need to think bigger if you want a bigger life"  Art Manville

Wishing you health and happiness,

Michelle

Well Said!

Great Post Aaron and so true.  It reminded me of a couple of quotes;  "The greatest mistake we make is living in constant fear that we will make one. ", and one that you referred to in your post by Albert Einstein, " Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them."

As you have so generously offered, having a mentor(s) and a system is crucial!  A Mastermind Group has been used by successful people throughout history.  Napolean Hill talked about that a lot in "Think and Grow Rich."

I had to come to that realization about 10 years ago, that I was responsible for where I was in my life.  Not other people, situations, the economy, fill in the blank.......When I decided to stop making excuses,  having a victim mentality, and getting out of my own way, everthing began to change very quickly.
 · The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, join the business,  or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what. After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.

I think Nike had it right all those years ago......."Just Do It!"

It's the Solution That Matters

Well said! I learned a long time ago when working with others that have the same disease I do, that it isn't about the problem. We all encounter or have had, at one time or another the same problem(s). It is what one is willing to do about it that counts. Getting into the solution rather than staying stuck in the problem makes all the difference in the world. I often share my experiences, give words of encouragement and show them another point of view to help those that I mentor see the positive side of things, but ultimately it is up to them and what they are willing to do about their "problem". I can't do it for them. My belief is the measurement of success is not in how much money you have or make, what kind of car you drive, what neighborhood you live in, or how many businesses you own, but in what obstacles you have overcome to get to there!

Aaron, Great post, most of

Aaron,

Great post, most of which you say holds merit. I would just like to add that I believe there are hidden determinants to human behavior.

As an ND, for the past 6 years I have studied the human body through quantum energetic biofeedback and bio resononance theories and worked with many clients. There are clear factors that indicate the stress or entwining effects between body, mind, spirit, environment, ancestral and etheric components( and more) of self that fly under the radar to most, which btw can hardly ever be detected by traditional medicine.

When one is in fear and just can't seem to rid themselves of failure, lack mentality excuses or whatever                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   ever negativ emotions they experience no matter how much they seem to try. ... They just may have Kidney, Bladder, Lymph, and Endocrine, Heart issues, etc. which they are unaware of on the energetic level. Seriously.

With the SAD, Standard American Diet, and toxic pollutants in our environment, our foods, cleaning agents etc.. it is no wonder that many suffer and really don't know why.  Then they beat themselves up and lose self esteem and the problems or issues acerbate on every level. Not sure if this will help or adds to the confusion…

If you have issues where you are unforgiving of yourself or others for not succeeding you may have a kidney or bladder stress you maybe unaware of. If you lack self esteem you may have issues with your pituitary gland, if you lack vitality as in “just Doing It” you could have issues with your hypothalamus. If you feel you’re not good enough, you don’t feel like picking up the phone, you over think the process… you could be experiencing stress with spleen or lymph. If you get frustrated easily it could be that your gallbladder is off. If you easily get angered and blame others check for Liver stress or imbalance. If you feel you can’t survive, it's too diffucult to endure, the lungs could be challenged in some way. If you feel you are clueless and just can’t seem to figure things out… you could have candida or your reproductive organs and hormones could be out of balance.  If you don’t think "it" will work and you worry about every little aspect, then your pancreas could be in trouble. Then if we focus and hold on to negative issues, and can't seem to let go the colon is stressed in some way. This list goes on and on.

We may not be aware of certain physical health issues because our body was designed to compensate through the stress and when it no longer can compensate we then feel pain. Then the pain comes and goes and we often ignore it till we can’t any longer…. Etc. then we take drugs or even worse surgically remove what they think is causing the “ailment”.

Long before we feel physical pain from the now apparent negative issues they have been manifesting for quite some time unbeknown to us or undetectable to our conscious mind. Like they say, and it’s true cancer does not happen over night, it is a long process, most health issues act the same way. Although the detection tools of conventional medicine are good, they leave a lot to be desired, they also do not take the implications of emotions, mind, spirit, environmental, ancestral, etc .theories into consideration.

To be of strong mind, emotion and spirit vibrationally or energetically… your organs must be strong and healthy as well, which is directly connected to diet, exercise, water intake, clean environment, etc. All be it we can’t be in control of every thing, we can however do our best and add to our regiment detoxing practices at least seasonally. Some cultures do it daily or weekly. Many Americans never detox, pray, fast or meditate. They just take their body, mind and soul for granted and then wonder why they do not have success.

Thanks for the Reminder!

Thank you Deb for the reminder! The connection between the body and mind is all so real and very important. If the body is not well, the mind will not work properly, and vice versa, that is a proven fact! Thus people who worry get ulcers and people who lack in vitamin B12 often suffer from depression. I find that frequently I need to refer those that I mentor to a professional healthcare provider. The psychiatrist I use does some blood work and a complete physical before he does anything else. The primary care physician I utilize includes a complete psychological profile in his physical work up to see if the person is exhibiting signs of depression, or other mental instability. It is very important that these cross checks are done and that is why I utilize the providers that I do. Overall health and wellness are fundamental, a core component and key to success. One will not go very far if they are constantly worrying about some ache or pain and etc. However one chooses to maintain their balance is okay with me, as long as it works for them.

Sometime You Just Have to Silence that Voice Within

Wonderful post Aaron,

Found myself in that dilemma too a few months back until I decided to silence that voice within that say's I couldn't do it. Now I'm happily learning that most of the fears I had in the past really had no concrete basis. There's still a lot for me to learn but its a good start. The fear is still there I just decided to keep it silent.

Thanks for the great post!
