5 Smoking Hot Tips For Creating Killer Content
Original Post from SteveRodgersOnline.com
As more and more online Network Marketers realize the infinite value of creating a massive web presence, often times they have a hard time coming up with topics to help claim some valuable internet real estate.
Below are 5 Smoking Hot Tips to help you create your next article, video, or blog post.
1. Do some quick keyword research.
Google offers a great, free keyword tool for you to dig through keywords and find out what people are searching for. But I think you should take it a step further...
Besides just looking at the amount of searches on a particular topic, try to look for what the guys over at www.SeoNetworker.com refer to as "money" keywords. These are keywords that have not only get a ton of searches, but also have fierce competitors paying a decent buck just to rank in the paid listings.
If you find keywords that meet both these criteria, you've got yourself a "money" keyword. Optimize your content with some basic Search Engine Optimization and you may just find yourself on the top of the organic search for those keywords.
2. Look For Social Buzz
If you hang around with like-minded people, you'll occasionally hear new buzz words floating around. If you happen to know a good bit about the topic of the buzz, then now's your chance to put itout into the world.
Some good places to get your finger on the pulse of your peer group are:
Social Media Sites like Youtube, Facebook, Myspace or even Twitter "tweets". Pay attention in your favorite forums. If a thread is started and begins to get white-hot right before your very eyes, you may just have yourself one killer topic to create with.
If your inbox suddenly gets flooded with the next big affiliate launch, this may be a time to get related content out into the world. Usually when these things launch, a tsunami of searches are bound to hit shore. Position yourself by making a video, writing an article, or post about it in your blog.
This may not give you immediate and massive amounts of traffic, but rest assured, as the buzz term grows in popularity, the law of compound interest is totally working in your favor.
3. Follow The Leaders
Every industry has it's major players. Chances are you're someone who already understands the value in staying tied in with the people you wish to be like.
Follow your heroes by using Twitter. Pay attention to their 'tweets'. Every now and again they'll put something out to make sure all of their followers can get the inside scoop, hot off the presses.
After you catch wind of the breaking news, sieze the opportunity to get this "Top Dog" content out to your own people. Send it to your prospect/ newsletter list. Pass the 'tweet' down the line to your own followers.
One could argue that there's no such thing as getting in the game too late, however early is always best.
4. Stick To What You Know
We all can't be experts on everything. However there may just be something you do so well, that you just can't help but be a valuable inspiration to others. If you can keep to your own specialized area of expertise, then you definitely stand a chance of being the go- to guy or gal for the answer.
Take some time and write down some topics that you believe you could offer a valuable perspective on. Once you've complied your list, go and do the aforementioned keyword research for the related "money" keywords.
This will definitely solidify your expert status for all of your content visitors, but also boost your confidence as well.
5. Ask Your List
What better way to get content idea than from the very people who already count on you for content?
Simply adding a "Most Burning Question" submission box on your website's lead capture form will give some great ideas as to what people actually want you to create for them. Get enough people to supply you with ideas and you could be set for a month or two... in real-time.
You could also do a periodic survey of your list. Some of you Network Marketers out there might remember how Mike Dillard used to have his "Ask Mike" section on the bottom of his email newsletters. Do you think that guy ever had a problem creating valuable content?
Another good way is to add a Wordpress Plugin called Psychic Search, by MaxBlogPress, right to your existing blog. When someone visits your blog and decides to do a search, this plugin reports the exact term they were searching for. If you get enough searches for topics you haven't yet covered... then you've got yourself a winner.
BONUS TIP! Create Tutorials About Things You Couldn't Easily Find.
We've all had situations where we've search different wordings for the same thing, only to come up empty handed for useful content. If you ever work out the answer to your problem, then you've just found a great topic to create a valuable tutorial for others.
Keep these ideas in mind when creating your content and I can't wait to see what you create!
