7 Ways In Getting Your Email Read
Recently, a long time buddy of mine asked "Hey brother, how do I get my email read by my subscribers?"
A couple of years ago, I was like him, struggling to write emails that my subscribers would read and respond to. After studying from some respected online marketer's copy of emails and promotional direct mailer from various malls, I found out that there are 7 common basic ways in getting your email to be read.
Lets start with the very first one,
- What is your intention of writing your email?
You must know very clear to what you want to convey your message to your subscribers. Once I come across a promotional email by a marketer, he or she promote 2 different products of 2 different industries to his or her subscribers. In the end, I unsubscribe from the list. Always plan before you write your next email.
- How can you help solve your subscriber problem?
In your email, you may describe your product results, testimonials, credentials or any experiences that your subscribers should trust and buy from you.
- Solve their problem on the spot.
Pin-point their main concern and deep deeper into their concern. And one more thing, you may list out their negative effect in bullet form.
- List the benefits they will experience when you solve their problem.
Here, you may list out 3-4 short-burst testimonials following the benefit that your product may in anyway benefit them. Insert and repeat any product results, credentials or experiences as stated in Step 2.
- Call-To-Action.
Classic. Here you need to tell your subscriber specifically what to do after reading your email. Generally speaking, there are 3 major Call-To-Actions which are:-
- Visit your online store
- Call you to find out more
- Click on the link you given them
- Write to your style.
A lot of beginner including me when I first started writing my emails blow it here. Don't try to write as if you are an A grade student. Don't use big words instead use Simple Words. It will convey nicely to them. Although you are writing to 100s or 1000s subscribers, you have to write as if you are talking to a friend - More of a one-on-one conversation using friendly, non-pushy tone.
- Providing a postscript message (P.S.)
Include a P.S at the end of your email message. In the P.S., summarized the important point of your email and include a Call-To-Action for your subscribers. Reasoning being, not all subscriber will have time to read your email and they will just click open and scroll all the way to the bottom of your email to see if you offer anything special for them or not.
Special Note: If a single P.S. is not enough, you can continue to insert P.P.S or P.P.P.S
Before I left you to start writing your first email, I wish to give you additional tip. According to a reliable source, the best day to send out your email is on Tuesday and the worst day of the week to send out is on weekends.
