This article is a 'postscript' to "11 Surefire Ways to Create Killer Headlines" where I discussed various ways you can use your headline to lure a 'browser' into the body of your post and turn him into a 'reader'...which of course always is your objective when writing your headline!
Below you will find some additional techniques that can help you do just that.
Again, whatever you do, remember that your headline MUST promise value – more value than the headlines of your competitiors' articles...! In fact, so much value that your reader– in spite of a million other choices and a to-do list as long as from here to Kuala Lumpur -- simply can’t help but dig into you post! ;-)

Here you capitalize on your reader’s fear of failing. As with the previous strategy, use a specific, intriguing number to really arouse your reader’s curiosity.

- Do You Recognize the 9 Early Warning Signs of Upline Mind Control?
5. See How Easily You Can ___
Who doesn't want an easy solution?
- See How Easily You Can Duplicate Yourself.

6. The Lazy ___’s Way to ___.
This one uses the same psychological triggers as the preceding technique. Plus it employs humor, which is also a great weapon.
- The Lazy Guy’s Way to Success in PPC Advertising.
- The Lazy Marketer’s Way to Create Killer Sales Letters.
7. Are You ___?
Use questions in your headlines to engage your 'browser' and to awaken his curiosity. This strategy is particularly effective when the question is a bit provocative, as in my examples below.

Perfect for when you have a personal story to tell. The more the two blanks are in contrast, the better!
