Am I Duplicatable?

The key to long-term success in network marketing is duplication. This occurs only if you and your systems are duplicatable. Are they? Could anyone join your team, copy what you are doing and be successful? If the answer is yes, then you can skip this article. Otherwise, continue on as we discuss building a system of duplication.

First is the way your business is set-up. Network marketing is designed to be a home-based business. If you’re using or contemplating an office or training center, this is not duplicatable. Although it seems more business-like, your prospective distributors will look at your set-up and decide they can¹t do your business. I remember an entire company that required leaders to set up a training facility. The company did well for awhile, but is now out of business. So, make sure that you have a home-based office set-up that any one could duplicate.

Second, are your marketing methods - Are you doing massive advertising, e-mail marketing, internet marketing, or direct mail? Again, this may be effective, but it¹s not duplicatable. The average distributor will not be able to afford your system. If you’re going to use mass marketing, make sure that you also have systems for the average distributor. I remember a top income earner who built her business passing out opportunity cards in the business district. Another who conducted face-to-face surveys. Also, remember that over 80% of the people who join network marketing companies are sponsored by someone they know, so don’t forget the warm market methods also.

Third, are your presentations - Are you so smooth and knowledgeable that the new distributor would feel they could never do a presentation? I often think of a top network marketer who started out giving presentations in holey jeans (because that’s all he had to wear) and today he’s a top income earner. To make your business presentation easily duplicatable, start using DVD’s, overhead slides, or flip charts. Stick with information that is readily available to the average distributor. It’s even best is you don’t do all of the presentation. Start including others in your presentations and you’ll see quicker duplication.

The more duplicatable your business, marketing, and presentations, the quicker your network (and income) will grow.

A duplicatable system is a must have...

People are not duplicatable but systems are.
When I started to follow a simple duplicatable system instead of following people,
my business took a huge turn for the better.
Thanks for a great reminder to really analyze what we do every day and ask ourselves:
Is this duplicatable? Can everybody in my team follow the system I'm using?
When we follow a proven system we become professional pointers
instead of trying to become experts.

I appreciate you,

 Great entry Rod!

The importance of having / choosing a duplicable business can not be imphasized enough.

Too many internet entrpreneurs fail because of this, just like I did and once you understand what you don't want (an impossible system that cannot be duplicated) - you certainly know what you DO want.

Working with a system that is duplicale is like night and day - your internet business turns from frustration to joy, it quickly expands, sign ups from day one is possible, nice monthly earnings too and all thanks to a simple set that anyone can follow!

These businesses can educate on a very high level and be able to keep their enrolloed fellow markers much longer!

These are the network marketing businesses that will survive!

Great Info!

This is one of the mistakes I made when I first started network marketing.  (just 6 months ago) I gave a really great presentation and people would tell me they couldnt do it.  Some would ask me if I would do all their presentations.  I also had an expensive marketing campaign.  So my business grew but my downline business didnt, so I really wasnt making as much money as I could have.  I quickly learned that its all about duplication.  My upline leader told me to only do presentations at big events and never tell people about my marketing plans unless they asked or I thought they could afford them.

Fantastic!

This is what I have been doing for over 19 years and a great reminder to stick to what has worked so well and not complicate things.

Never forget where you started and put yourself in the shoes of the new person and you will build a successful partner and one that will stay for a lifetime.

Thank you for this fantastic information that can be shared with others.

Great Advice

This is real good advice.  I came pretty close to falling into that trap. I was ready to open an office and hire sales help but I came to my senses and realized just what you said; it would not be duplicateable.

It is easy to get ahead of ourselves when we are excited about what we are doing.

Thanks Rod

DUPLICATION

Duplication is a word that every networker wanted to understand. I agree with Daniela Reiss. It is the system that must be duplicated and not the People. But what system do we have to implement? So many systems to teach but often times we are forgetting the words "Keep It Simple and Duplicable. Road map - simple instruction should be given specially to the newbie in the industry.

Simple, not Hard?

Rod,  Thanks for helpful words.  So many of us have gone just where you are talking about.  We have worked long and hard to get a business model that we think all can follow, only to find out, that we have made it so hard that most new people are totally intimidated by it, and they go somewher else.  Maybe you have opened some eyes and can save them some of the turmoil others of us have gone thru.

A Good Read, thank you.

Thanks for the reminder

Thank you for that timely reminder.  The reason my last business was not the success I was told it could be was that I was unable to duplicate what my mentor was doing.  There are a lot of reasons for that, but prime among them was that he was a flaming Red personality and I could not/would not push as hard as he did.  The second reason was that there was not a system that I could plug people into.  So while I had moderate success the people I sponsored had very little or none.

This is such an important point for all of us to remember.

Thank you again,

thank you for this article

Thanks for your article.  I have been reading and coming across this subject constantly.  I still am looking for a duplicatible system, as my upline buys leads, and I just can't do that.  I have so many ideas swirling in my brain, I am not sure where to start.
