Am I Just Out to SCAM You....???
Next time you're having a conversation with an interested, qualified prospect, instead of talking about your company (yawn), try telling them about your Marketing System.
I’m going to assume here that you’ve read “Magnetic Sponsoring” and that you’re familiar with the analogy about the drill and the hole… So instead of trying to sell your prospect a hole, demonstrate to them how great your drill is.
Your "drill", of course, is your Marketing System. It’s the tool that is going to help your new recruit get what they want – whether that be financial independence, time freedom, or whatever. I never get tired of talking about my Marketing System. Maybe because it wasn't that long ago that I didn’t have one. And because I didn't have a System, I'd spend hours every day passing out fliers and (expensive) business cards outside department stores. I had no idea the whole process could be easily automated. Today, fortunately -- having discovered "the better, easier, smarter way" -- instead of sneaking up on unsuspecting customers outside WalMart, attempting to collect phone numbers in return for product samples, I can from the comfort of my own home send out a hundred times as many invites with a simple click of the mouse, to a much more targeted list of potential customers and with much better results. Maybe that's why I've come to appreciate the Automated Marketing System so much... And maybe also for the reason that I, like most people, don’t enjoy being rejected…and now that I have a Marketing System in place that does all the “dirty work” for me, I don’t have to deal with rude or nasty people anymore. That, too, could possibly have something to do with it... ;-) In case you're wondering, here’s what I mean by "doing the dirty work for me": Although the vast majority of the emails I receive from prospects are friendly, it also happens once in a blue moon that someone will send me something really "out there" -- some wild accusation about my company being a scam and about me being a con artist. These emails are usually written in all caps and accentuated with half a dozen exclamation marks. And they are always extremely irrational, even to the point of being comical. What puzzles me is that the person could simply click on the link that comes with any and every one of my emails and unsubscribe to my messages - which I assume they would want to do if they really believe I'm that evil...right? But no, for some strange reason, they choose to stay subscribed. Go figure. Not that I’m bothered by those kinds of emails -- actually the opposite is true. They actually make me feel really great about my marketing. Why? Well, whenever an email like that lands in my inbox, it simply proves to me that my system is doing what it has been designed to do: sorting and filtering, identifying the qualified prospects for me and eliminating the rest. Which is obviously a good thing! I remember one lady who actually did unsubscribe...in fact she unsubscribed within minutes of receiving my first email. Her comment in the "unsubscribe email" was about half a page in length, and she went on a tirade about what a hoax my business was, how I was trying to scam her because she was required to pay a (very small) application fee to be considered – she claimed that this was in reality how I was making my money. It was easy to read between the lines and see that she had been "scammed" before. And now she was obviously petrified it was going to happen again. Unfortunately there are some paranoid people out there, and every so often you can't help but run into them. There’s not much you can do about that. However, when you do encounter those type of individuals you need to be able to deal with them in a time effective manner. Which is why you need your Marketing System. The lady in the above-mentioned scenario didn't qualify. She clearly didn't have the entrepreneurial mindset that's necessary to succeed in our industry. She wasn't ready or willing to step out of her comfort zone. She wasn't right for my opportunity, and my opportunity wasn't right for her. And thanks to my Marketing System neither she nor I had to waste any time in order to get to that conclusion. How much better to find this out now rather than weeks or months down the road after I'd poured all my time and energy into her, and after she'd spent her hard-earned money on a business that wasn't a match for her. I'm a marketer, not a therapist. My System did exactly what it's designed to do: it filtered out the particular prospect. All that was left for me to do was hit the delete button, and -- voila -- any trace of the neurotic woman was forever gone into cyber space! Yeay! When you have an effective Marketing System doing the "dirty work" for you, you can, instead of spending endless hours talking to prospects only to find that they are the wrong people, invest your time in actual income-producing activities…such as learning how to market and drive traffic to the System, taking and processing order -- and training your team to do the same. And you know what? When you’re engaged in those activities, and your team is growing, and you see the money coming in, then you’re not going to be thinking about whether some misinformed person out there thinks you’re out to scam them! Who cares!!!?? Next time, try telling that to your prospective recruits.... Take your company out of the equation. Instead, tell them about your System. Show them how your System is going to help them, make their life easier and building their business a lot more fun and lucrative! Let them have a long, good look at your drill. Demonstrate to them how well it works, how it's made so many wonderful holes for so many different people, and how it is going to do the same for them. Do that and they will buy your business. Guaranteed.

Thanks for sharing your professional thoughts and wisdom. So far what I have found when guiding people through my system, is a fear of the unknown. The people who are fairly new to internet marketing are hesitant because they can't see it working right away, they know nothing about it, never used a marketing system. Once I show them how really easy it is and how well the system works, their sense of confidence grows and the fears subside. I can usually detect their fears just in conversation. So many people lack the sense of "can do" and if no one is there to boost their self esteem and raise their confidence level, then success probably will not follow. Sometimes you just have to hold their hands for a little while.
