Good leadership is what we all want and want to become. “Teaching, sharing ideas and resources, helping and supporting Representatives in your organization is essential to your success,” says Juliet St. John in a recent message to her team.

The topic of leadership comes up so often in the MLM community mainly because success comes in this business when people are attracted to and follow. Juliet St. John, the leading lady--top female money earner in her MLM company wrote a message to her team that I thought was worth repeating. We’ve all heard it said that leaders are not born, they are made. Read on to see what Juliet had to say on this popular topic in MLM circles.

“One of the greatest benefits of your Network Marketing business is the support that is available to you from your upline leaders. In the traditional business world you have to outperform, outlast and outdo others in the company in order to "climb the ladder of success." It's highly unlikely that your colleagues will help you to be more successful than they are! But in Network Marketing, the only way anyone can succeed is by teaching, supporting, and helping others to succeed. Your upline leaders all want you to be more successful than they are.

 

Likewise, one of your keys to success in your NM business lies in stepping up to leadership, and this starts as soon as you have sponsored your first RTA. As an effective leader, your job is to support, teach, and train others to become leaders and achieve high levels of success for themselves. On the other hand, 'support' does not mean 'carry.' The #1 benefit of network marketing is the potential to develop long-term residual income - to become incidental or unimportant to the creation of your income. But in order to achieve that goal of "walkaway income," you have to help other people become independent.

 

Remember Your Job is to:

FIND MOTIVATED PEOPLE----not TO MOTIVATE PEOPLE.

FIND a handful of people who see what you see, and will "pick up the ball, and run with it!"

TEACH motivated people the proven steps to building a successful business.

TRAIN AND SUPPORT people who will take action on their own, not to "pump up" and carry people who won't.

DEVELOP "Independent" RTA's, not "Dependent" RTA's.

 

Teaching, sharing ideas and resources, helping and supporting Representatives in your organization is essential to your success. But "supporting" is not "carrying." Don't cripple your RTA's in your effort to support them. Be sure you are teaching them how to develop and maintain their own successful businesses and become leaders on their own.”

Leadership comes in all styles and the one that works best is the one that fits the developmental stage of the follower. Daegan Smith wrote, “There are numerous theories on leadership. Different leaders carry out their roles in a wide variety of styles, depending on the situation and circumstance. There are also various methods how leaders motivate and manage their people. But in the end, leadership is really all about faith, people and purpose. It is about having a vision, the faith that it can be done and the drive to enlist others in the pursuit of that purpose.” Go out and find the person with the style of leadership you need to succeed and get started right away!
