Are You a Leader??

This has been a great week of soul searching for me.  I met some amazing people this past weekend.  Inspiring speakers and true success stories.  Their success is not in their bank accounts or garage but in their minds and hearts. 

Dave Watson, thank you for your encouragement.  Sometimes this journey to the life of our dreams is filled with bumps and bruises.  We all have those dream stealers and nay sayers.  But you reminded me WHY I am on this road less travelled.  And I thank you!

You see it is not about the fame or fortune, but rather what you do with the fame and fortune. It’s not where you end up but who you become on your way there.  Do your actions inspire others to do more, to dream more, to learn more?  This is from one of my favorite quotes by John Q. Adams.  I want to be a person who inspires others to look beyond their limitation and see the abundance in life.  That is my WHY and it is bigger than me.  It is so big it will drive me through the tough times.

Do you have a personal vision for your life?  IF not, you should find one.  And it shouldn’t be all about you.  I did this great exercise a couple of weeks ago on January 5th to be exact.  I was asked to answers some very important questions:

1. What are two of your unique personal qualities?
2. What are two ways you enjoy expressing those qualities?
3. What does your perfect world look like?
4. Now combine your three answers into one statement.

This is your Personal Vision Statement.  The Road Map of how to live your life.  The WHY of your desires,  if you will.

The next step on that path is to  M.A.P.  (Massive Action Plan) the steps neccessary to accomplish this vision.  Where are the areas of your life that need greater focus to accomplish this vision.  How are you getting there?  Will this journey be fun, because if not, it likely will not be accomplished.

So take the time now to really answer the questions above.  It may take you a few minutes, a few hours or even a few days, but  it will be time well spent.  These are the things in life worth striving toward. Then share your Personal Vision Statement with others, including me.  I’d love to hear  it.
