I just want to welcome you and tell you what I know about this online stuff.
I started back in November so bear with me. I have found out there is terminology. I had no idea what a Lead Capture Page was. The first page people see. What Branding yourself was which is what I am doing now I am trying to let you know about who I am. I have gone through a lot in my career as a Network Marketer for over the twenty-five years. I still have a hard time just letting you get to know me.
I had no idea that when you looked up sites off of Google they were Pay-Per-Click. I kind of wonder how they got there, now I know. I have learned a few tricks to making ads. My dad had for years kind of been doing ads for various things. I now have learned by watching tutorial videos. I like them because I can repeat what I did not catch. There is of course the Keyword Search. You have to also find a header or the first line of your ad off of Google by just typing in what you want. A tip I learned was to find something that is not mentioned too much. Keyword you need words that are used often but not many times looked at. Just seen and not used.
I have just learned to use surfing or looking up ads and getting credits or more importantly have your ad surfed on there site if you surf.
A big way to market yourself for free, (I like free), is by Social Networking such as MySpace, Facebook and I like BetterNetworker, Direct Matches and Twitter. There are many to choose from.
I write Articles on EzineArticles.com and make You Tube Videos. I am getting ready to make another You Tube Video sometime soon. I can say this because I seem to make one every once in a while.
The thing about Online Marketing and the Internet is that there is a ton of stuff. You name it, it is there. The key or thing you should do is try to find someone who can show you around the Internet. I am not saying I am you man. What I am saying is that when I started I wish I had someone to show me what, where and how to work my way around.
I now feel at home with the site I am associated with. They teach me what direction to take. Not just online but personally too. They have calls almost everyday if you want to call in.
Here I go again telling you stuff about what I am doing and not what I know. I have mentioned a few things here and another is that some times when you write you can only use so many words. You also take what you write and try to get it to as many sites as you can. I will have to look at my notes to come up with more information so now I will just say SEE YA.
To learn more about Online Marketing visit my site and download the free e-book “Success In Ten Steps” You will thank yourself for doing so.

Information Overload
There is a huge amount of information to absorb for newcomers to this sport. So many people tell me they barely know how to move the mouse and click let alone try and follow all the internet lingo to learn. A bit of a mountain to climb.
keep at it
Hi Ed looks great so far and keep the interracting with people and you will do great online.
A Good Way To Start
Your suggestions and information is highly valued. These are the basic guidelines that is needed
thanks for the reply
I kind of thought I needed to break it down into bite size pieces. Thanks
Good stuff
Hi Ed,
You're right with the online thing - there's heaps of stuff out there, which is a double-edged sword sometimes. But it really does take time and effort to understand.
I've been a software developer for more years than I care to remember sometimes, and spent a good few years working with/in a fantastic technical team for the UK's leading web hosting provider. I've therefore been exposed at the code level to mail servers, web servers, web services, domain name servers etc.
Why do I mention this? Because while it helps to be "comfortable" online, none of that technical stuff helped me with online/internet marketing at all. In fact, it was a hindrance to begin with because I truly felt I knew this stuff.
Mike Dillard talks about having an epiphany in a slightly different context, but for me it was snapping out of technician mode that was a defining moment.
Lead capture pages, list building, copy writing, driving traffic and all that wonderful stuff takes time to understand, effort to learn, and even more importantly you need first to realise this industry is a distinct discipline/skillset in its own right.
I enjoyed reading that, and look forward to reading more from you in the future.
All the best

Great Article Ed!! Tks
You make some excellent points. I was totally lost myself and paid someone several thousand dollars to teach me from A-B-C......he was a great teacher, sweet guy to watch, and I learned a lot....but with my 7 websites....I am still not making any money.
I love Mentoring for Free....as I am now with an on-going group and enjoying the connections ANd the personal growth. OF course. I will be happy when I see some money too LOL
There is certainly a lot to learn....and there are a thousand ways to spend hundreds of hours and not be making progress. My mentor helps me to get focussed and remember I am in business.
But I like to have fun too LOL
