Article Word Count: 919 There is a reason why the Internet (net) is full of so much negative slander about ‘Online Income Opportunities’ (Internet Network Marketing Businesses), and why there is such a high turnover rate or revolving door associated with it. Let us first clarify all the names that are commonly interchanged and stand for the ‘Online Income Opportunity’. These are several of the titles/names commonly used; Home-Based Business, Gifting Programs, Online Franchises, Direct Sales, Internet/Network - Marketing/Sales/Advertising, Online Entrepreneur Opportunities, Online MLM’s, and Online Programs. Let me explain what happens with most online programs during a new recruits’ first 2-3 months. A new recruit enters a company full of eagerness, enthusiasm and good intentions. They are number 19 in the downline of a member 4 months into the program. After all the formalities are taking care of (if this goes without a hitch), the recruit asks where do I go from here? What do I do next? They're upline tells them to go spend more money and place so many ads (text, banners, etc.,) per day and to also go to the ‘lead shop’ and purchase however many leads that best fits their budget. The upline may even be making a commission off the lead purchase. You can see how the costs quickly start adding up. So the ignorant (uneducated) recruit buys the most expensive leads package, places several ads, and diligently gets started. For help with training the upline tells the recruit to look at their back office for direction. The new recruit asks an extremely common question. What is a back office? This is explained to the recruit briefly in a training video if one is provided. This will probably be the last time the recruit hears from their upline, so they are now on their own. Time goes by and the recruit finds out that there are phone calls (which they also have to pay for) they need to sit in on, but they are during working hours. After a couple of weeks, on one of the phone calls the recruit finds out that there is a website that someone on the team has set up to help explain to recruits what to do one step at a time. Every time the recruit has a question there is no one around to answer the question until the next Q&A phone call. So for example, if your question is on Thursday evening, you may not be able to get it answered until Monday daytime. Let's say the recruit is in one of those companies where they may have to call their paid leads raising their phone bill even further. After many, many hang-ups, disconnects, no answers, etc., the recruit feels as though they've been punched in the gut with no results. It is now 30 days later and the recruit asks others: what am I doing wrong? The recruit is told that they are doing nothing wrong. It just takes time so keep doing what you are doing and it will happen for you. It often comes in bunches or groups and may take up to 2 or 3 months.  You did catch that 2 or 3 month’s part, right! Are not these companies promising you that you will be making money in 24 to 48 hours? And that you should be making $5K-$10K/month in the first 1-2 months, if not more? Let's go on shall we. So the ignorant recruit goes back and spends more money and time placing ads, buying more leads, answering e-mails, and making more phone calls for another month only to end up with no results once again. Eventually after running out of all of their money, being brutalized on the phone, kicked to the curb, and left feeling like a failure, the recruit throws up their arms in frustration and disgust and quits-hence the ‘revolving door’. This is the reason you find so many articles, blogs, youtubes, etc., slanderingOnline Income Opportunities’, calling them scams.  But the truth is it is NOT a scam. It CAN and DOES work! It just works for those with training and/or experience who know what they are doing. It is a fact that almost 1/2 of all profits made go to the top 1%- 2% reps in the highest held positions in the company. You see they profited from all the money, time, and hard work the recruit and many others provided. The recruit kept the exposure going and then left. So what exactly is the problem for beginners? Their upline support! Or should I say more accurately, the lack of it. The teams these recruits are joining do not properly train recruits nor do they have 1-on-1 support. The truth is many of these systems have their ‘flaws’. I will explain this further in my next article: “Flaws of Online Income Opportunities”, which you can find online.  Colleen K. Rich http://www.Income-and-Security.com  has variety of backgrounds and has ‘Online Income Opportunities’. It is NOT their fault!

Wow - you hit the nail on the head. All it takes is a business that cares more about the distributors than the company and having a sponsor that is a mentor with a servants heart. It CAN be done, and you CAN own your life!

I NEEDED TO READ THIS!

Hello. I needed to read this article. I still work full-time and everytime I talk to my co-workers about a business opportunity that I learned about, one in particular always says it's a scam. This is someone who knows absolutely nothing about the business or network marketing for the matter. I have to admit, I had those same thoughts myself once upon a time. But now I know that the business itself may not be a scam; but the person in the business is doing the scamming because they don't have what it takes to be a leader and a mentor. It's all about the money to them. Thanks again for such a great article. Make sure you visit my profile and comment to my blog, "Taking Care of Your Responsibiltiy." I think you may find it very interesting.

Have a Nice Day.
