Can You Really Make Money In This Industry?

Occasionally, I get a call or an email from a new Entrepreneur, or from friends and acquaintances that are in Corporate America, and they are skeptical about the stories of Success,  Income and Lifestyle  that they hear about in our Industry. 

With so much hype and information overload on the internet today, I can understand why some people would feel like that.   Maybe some of you reading this post are wondering if these stories and claims are true.

“Do these people really make the kind of money that they talk about in the videos?  Is the Lifestyle of being an Entrepreneur and working from the comfort of your own home really possible?”

These are legitimate questions, and as someone who has experienced success in this industry for many years, I wanted to share some thoughts with you about how all of the Top Leaders and Top Income Earners in this Industry started out.
We all started our journey with a dream and a burning desire to better our lives.
 
We enjoy the Lifestyle, the Financial Success and the Freedom that is possible because at one point in our lives, we were in a situation where we weren't satisfied or we needed things to change.

For some, it was about making more money. For others the money was good, but there was no time for family or for a balanced life. And for many, it was about going for a dream, and not settling for mediocrity, and for challenging ourselves.....For Freedom.

When I started in Network Marketing many years ago, I was a very analytical person. I had to know every detail, I was often looking for reasons why something wasn't going to work, and sure enough, I always found them.  (Fortunately, my mentor and good friend Jeffery Combs cured me of that)  :)
 
I missed opportunities that I later regretted.
 
I used to spend about 80% of my time learning, researching, analyzing, and 20% of my time taking action and getting results. I stayed very busy and didn't make many mistakes, but I also didn't get many great results that I was satisfied with and that made me a lot of money.
 
I have learned many lessons over all these years, and I'd like to share a couple of them with you today.
 
1. Spend about 20% of your time learning and analyzing and 80% of your time taking action!
 
2. Successful people make good decisions quickly and are slow to change their mind when they do.   People who struggle or who are not very satisfied with their life, often make decisions very slowly and change their mind often.
Listen, you're going to make mistakes, but much of success is learned by doing! Don't let the fear of making a mistake rob you of the prize. Get out on the mat! Get in the game.  Don't be afraid to fail.
 
The most successful people in life are the ones that have failed the most.
 
They had a dream and they took actions to make that dream a reality.   It doesn't happen overnight.   There are no "get rich quick" businesses anywhere that are legitimate.
 
Everything that is worthwhile starts with a dream, and a vision. Then, to turn that dream into reality you need an action plan, a deadline, commitment, and PERSISTANCE.
 
Every one of the Top Leaders has failed over and over. That's why they are so successful!
 
In this world today of “Attraction Marketing Internet Marketing”, most of us had absolutely NO Internet Marketing Experience in the beginning. (Three months ago, the only things I knew how to do were how to send emails and do a search on Google).
 
But, we had a dream that we wouldn't give up on.
 
We found a Leader and Mentor that we had confidence in,  plugged ourselves into an Online Marketing System, , and went to work.
 
You can do the same thing.
 
One of my mentors told me years ago, "If you keep doing what you've been doing, you're going to keep getting what you've been getting." 
If you are struggling in a Home Based Business now, or if you are thinking about starting one... 
Remember, only in the dictionary does Success come before Work!
Be willing to step out of your comfort zone. Invest in yourself and believe in yourself.  Find a Leader and a Mentor to help you.  Be teachable. Be willing to learn new skills, and just roll up your sleeves and get to work.

Don't let fear be the thief of your dreams.   The only way you’ll fail is if you give up.
