Classic Nigerian Email Scam, Now On Skype - Are You A Critical Thinker?
There I was minding my own business last night, when up pops a Skype chat from Mrs. Vivian Salife.

Didn't recognize the name, but I have met some nice people over the internet this way before, so I humored her and responded, "I'm fine. How are you doing?"
I asked where she was from because I noticed a time difference, "am from cape town south africa but i work and live in west Africa." She said she was a banker; the senior accountant in her bank.
I grew more curious, "I've not been to west Africa. What country do you work in?"
She inquired of my age and revealed her own as 32 and asked about my work, then asked about my marital status. Of herself, she said, "I am a widow with a son ...what is disturbing me is my son's condition."
She explained, "there is a project i have which i will like to disclose with you, and please take it to yourself"
She then introduced herself all over again as if she were cutting and pasting, and told the story how her husband died and her son has a heart condition and began a huge convoluted dissertation, that was supposed to be a believable story.
From the moment she said, "there is a project..." I smelt scam. I let her continue her explanation while I did a quick and easy search on Google. "Vivian Salife Scam" and to my joy and amazement the truth was revealed and "the truth shall set you free." Here's what I saw!
She continued on and on with her story and I just felt sorry for her (or him for all I know).
I interrupted, "May I ask, do you believe in God?" She continued with another paragraph of her story and then, "yes dear."
"And He will judge us for all we do good or bad, or watching others suffer and do nothing?"
She continued, "...My dear I want to seek your permission to have you stand in as next of kin to late Mr. ziya so that this fund will be released and paid into your account as the rightful beneficiary's Next Of kin now that the bank is still expecting a Next Of Kin to come claim the fund. I have all the information about this man which will help us in this business. What I want you to do is to stand as the next of kin, you don’t need to come down here my dear, all you need is to follow my instructions so that we can work as one."
And me, "Please ma'am, the question. Do you believe this?"
She responds, "Am God also said help you brother or sister when you see him or her going into difficulties."
My yellow personality was trying to be kind and offer help. Hintingly, I replied, "Yes, and I see you are suffering... I don't quite know how to put this delicately, so as not to offend. But I would like to help you, so please don't go away. Do you know what I am talking about?"
After several moments hesitation I see, "ok dear, yes dear. My dear this is not against the wish of God in our life’s. I love God so much and i belive you are God sent."
She apparently didn't realize I was on to her, or else was in denial, so I went further, "I'm pretty sure your name is not Vivian, and this story is fabricated, but I don't want to embarrass you any more than to say I know this. I want to help you. I know you only do this because things are very hard in Nigeria. Corruption is probably rampant and sometimes you have to do bad things to get money there. Some believe it is the only way, but there is a way out. You must believe this. Can you believe this? I am your brother and want to help you, but I only can if you open the way for me to do so."
Her response to this: "You will get 40% of this money as soon as it gets into your account and I will come over with my only son Joe so you can help me fine a very nice hospital where I can treat him. I wish to hear from you the moment you might have finish reading this massage."
How many times does this happen when somebody tries telling you all about their amazing, pre-launch, multiple stream, binary, double rocket-boosted compensation plan, or an all expenses paid, trip to Hawaii, with free gas coupons, affiliate program, or whatever their claim to fame, flawless scheme is, and you try telling them, "Uh Jack, I'm on to you, it's time to stop pretending. What's more, I'll help you get out of your mess."
...and they just keep on talking like you burped or something! lol It's unbelievable!
I replied to her once more, "Please don't go on with this story. I know the truth and I don't want you to hurt yourself any more. Will you let me teach you and help you find a way out of your mess? I truly will help if you let me. This is what I know: ..."
...and I posted the link right to her, with a nearly duplicate rendition of the story she was relaying to me, live and in person, as though it were the first time in the world it had ever been done.
After posting the whole email fraud letter to her, I posted the following, "May I help you get out of this mess? I will if you let me.
If you change your mind, You can find me right here on Skype. Please think about this. You may have made some money from this, but you are only hurting yourself in the long run and running up your debt between you and Christ who paid the price for all of our sins. If you would like a way out of the life you have created for yourself and discover an honest way of making a living, even from Nigeria, then please contact me again and let me help you.
Please believe it when I say...
Your Friend, Randy Enman"
Funny thing... and sad too, the conversation ended.
The truth was out and the chatter, man or woman, had not the courage to say, "Yes, you are right. I'm in a mess, and I see you are offering me a way out, and I even recognize that you are offering to do this for free. Nobody has ever done this for me before. What can be done?"
It was just over and this person will go on continuing to try and make money from those who want to honestly help, but don't see what they're getting into.
Are you in the middle of something that you are beginning to question?

Classic Nigerian email Scam
Hello Randy, She popped up on my site also, but all I did was say hello and welcome. I get hundreds of emails everyday from a different King of Nigeria, there are som many Kings over there, it makes me wonder sometimes who does the work? Thanks for the warning. She get's "NOTHING" from me!!!!
Take care
Jose
I'm Glad You Saw This
Hey Jose,
I'm glad you saw this. I was going to send you a PM after you accepted my friend request, but looks like you got here first. I noticed she had connected there.
There's so many subtle scams out there, who needs the blatantly obvious ones!
Wishing you abundance and prosperity in all things,
Randy Enman
Scammers
They need to be locked up somewhere not sure where but they are a big bunch of losers
Bad actors
They come in every field. if it is to good to be true it is probably a scam. Take your time learn what is behind any offer you become interested in.
Thank you for the alert
From The Heart

I need to say something
Mike Dlouhy did NOT teach you that. It came from your HEART. Big difference.
I realize Dlouhy has you rather brainwashed, but you truly do have a great heart! Use your HEART from now on and you will gain so many followers both here and on Twitter and in LIFE!
Quit trying to preach Dlouhy's rhetoric. You will come across as more believable when it comes straight from the heart.
There are dozens just like this everywhere
It's nice to be nice and help others when we can, however there are so many out there who just prey upon that kindness in us. The key, like you said, is to be a critical thinker. We cannot help everyone who appeals to our good and kind nature.
I have recieved dozens of emails over the last few weeks with the same type of scam. When the money is too easy chances are it's a scam. There is no such thing as a free lunch!
Anyone asking for your personal financial information is NOT to be trusted-Period. I'm glad you chose to warn all of us here at BN. I never thought about warning anyone about the email scams because there are just too many of them. Also BN is supposed to be a community of like people who are here to help each other and benifit in the knowledge, so you would trust the people you meet in here a bit more.
Thanks Again, Randy.

You are a very bright and intelligent lady however I have to admit you made me laugh with your quote above. You have almost set yourself up as an us and them type of scenario. You are kind and gentle and will help everyone. Everyone that doesn't fit into that category is what??
A tiny hint for you. Kind, gentle, compassionate, or helping everyone under the sun is not going to let you achieve your dreams. You are in business. Read and study any of the great masters in this industry and none of them will tell you to hold someone's hand as they lament their woes all over your kind and gentle shoulder.
Work with those who say thank you when you've given them a kick in the butt when they needed it. Or those that rise to the challenge you've offered them. The hand holders will suck you dry and NOT get you ahead financially.
Randy wasn't screening and consequently spent far too much time with someone who was not a candidate for his business. The consequence of that is a financial lack. That may be his choice however most people don't have that luxury and need the screening skills to build now. That's where you can really help. Teach skills to those who want to learn them. Forget the rest who just love you because you are so kind and gentle.
To your success in business,
Joyce Penner
I have to say it's not critical thinking but common sense...
Very interesting.
I personally won't spend time reaching out to help people who have not made any committment, who have not reached out their hand in first place and have not gone through the qualifying process first.
I get it all time on personal messages here on BN and I test them out, see if they all talk and not action.
It's business.
Yes, it's about people but if we don't have a certain principle of screening people, and principle in priding our business and it's legacy...
...well, one will waste a lot of time on people who are not comitted to their financial future, who are not willing to work straight, and not willing to invest either in doing the work.
This isn't going to build strong team, nor will it pay the bills, won't build a big businesses but waste a lot of time chasing people, holding their hand and saying, "let me help you."
They should say that themselves to you, "Please, help me and I will committe etc etc.." and then see by qualifying them.
I personally feel, it's not really critical thinking but common sense.
Help those who raise their hand and who want to really learn. That can only happen when one puts a screening, qualifying process in place.
End of day, talk is cheap. People put action in, if they serious.
Your a good man Randy and kind, but brand yourself, not Doughly. Cause Doughly is branding himself, his name. So should it be for everyone else, in any business.
You had that thinking long before you met Doughly. That's my honest opinion.
