Continuing my thoughts on becoming a people magnet:

8. Vision: People are attracted to individuals who are visionary. A visionary can come into an organization and not only define the problem but chart a direction. Vision is the ability to chart a course and galvanize individuals to come along for the ride. Setting clear and concise goals and objectives is key to vision. In galvanizing the team, people magnets will use thier gift of insight to make evidence-based decisions about the future. Their strategies are meaningful and cause -effect in nature. They will use the talents of everyone on the team to help under gird the strategies. They will aslo keep a vision statment (usually one brief sentence) before the team at all times. Remember GE's "We Bring Good Things to Light".

9. Time Mangement: People magnets usually respect other peope's time but in turn demand that people respect their time. Time is indeed money. They don't let undisciplined people waste their time. An 8:00 o'clock meeting doesn't mean we get there at 8. It means that the meeting begins promptly at 8. People magnets usuall are multi-taskers who can usually get 2 to 3 times more work done in the same time frame. They are never without pen or paper or reading material. They can usually tell you what they will be doing at 1:45 PM the next day.
