“Valuable Gold Coins Cashed in at Local Bank

Zions bank officials are trying to get some rare and valuable gold coins back into the hands of their original owner.

A St. George woman apparently took some 20 dollar gold coins to a local branch of Zions Bank and received face value.

A teller noticed the transaction and purchased those coins, which he later learned are quite rare and quite valuable after having them appraised Zions learned about they're worth, and fired the teller while reclaiming most of the coins.

Zions says they do have surveillance video of the woman who turned in the coins, but are not releasing it at this time. Officials say they are trying to identify and contact the woman to get the coins back in her hands.

KCSG decided to dig a little deeper to learn more about these rare coins and find out how something so valuable could wind up in the bank.

We sat down with Charlotte Nelson of Allgood coins who says usually the coins are handed down through families, to someone who does not know their worth.

Nelson says if there is a question it's always a good idea to take the coins to an appraiser.”

This woman brought in fourteen $20 Liberty Coins, stating that she needed to exchange them at face value for food money.  That’s $280 dollars.

The face value that I saw in Success in 10 Steps when I first got it ,was that it was just a book. …just another among many eBook downloads that I get offered all the time.
