Do Ann Seig and Ferny Ceballos Have A Thing Going On?

So I've been reading a little bit about Ferny Ceballos and Ann Seig's little war...  It's been kind of entertaining actually and there was one aspect of that which I really wanted to test here on BN on a very small scale.

So Ann's mad at Ferny for using her name in some advertising. I guess she's had her lawyer breathing down Ferny's neck about it, but Ferny feels justified because Ann has been using other people's and company's names for years in her own marketing.  (Personally, I think Ferny likes Ann breathing down his neck, but that's just my opinion.  Correct me if I'm wrong Ferny... lol )

So anyhow, I just wanted to see if I get more traffic to this article than most of my others simply by including their names in the title.

Feel free to leave some comments about your opinion on the theory.  Seems to do well for Ann and Ferny.

You may be right.  But After reading Ferny's first article I think What is good for the "Gander is good for the Goose."   I am not a for or against either Ann or Ferny but I do understand how An uses key words to post her ads.  She seems to object if you use her name as a key word so she sent her lawyer out.  So I just sit on the sideline and laugh at the sillyness of it all.

I came back today just to see if someone was posting to this little "tiff". 

Good idea Randy, hope you get a lot of traffic.

Yes, it has been done since the dawn of time, that is why we are not in the GARDEN!

Here is what I can't figure.  We are told to use good keywords and Ann is a good keyword, does this mean we cannot use her name at all?

Too much fighting will most likely hurt her in the end.  I just hope it doesn't effect Mike K.  I think he is a swell guy.

So I just came back to BN to see what was going on.  Think I will hang around for a while to see how it all pans out.

You posed a good question, Patty.

Ann Sieg is a great converting keyword and shows the rabidness of her followers and how hungry they are for information.

That being said, I would say use your judgement. If you are going to use guru names as keywords, be respectful.  I would say that if you are a leader in this industry, it goes along with the territory. I personally don't mind.  I'm not afraid of being compared to other leaders.  I think I come out looking better when that happens in most cases.

Add tons of value to your subscribers and you have nothing to worry about -- as Mike Dillard has proven with his soaring sales.

I agree with you Patty...

...too much pettiness about this whole thing may tend to be a negative thing.

As I said, she's been using other people's or company's names for years.

You tell me where it is wrong to do so for somebody else...

If you don't care to have your name in the spotlight, then don't put it there and live by the same code you ask others to treat you under.

Just my opinion...

There is no Such Thing as Bad Publicity

I have followed Ferny and Anne's feud as well and I couldn't help but think to myself, if they aren't already helping each other by having this public spat, they will soon.  Lo and behold they have kissed and made up, now they are reaping the benefits of having a catchy headline to get people to click.  This is one of the oldest tricks in the book as far as catching people's attention goes.  Take it from me, I graduated from History at University.  Nothing sells quite like a controversy.  Why do you think reality TV is so popular, it certainly isn't because it is real.  Whether or not this spat was real is moot because these articles were hot for a long time and are still producing spin offs.  Mad props Ferny.
