Do You Know The Purpose of ListBuilding?
It's surprises me that a lot of people don't really know what should be their true purpose in listbuilding! Why are you getting a list of people's names and e-mails? What are you going to do with them all?
Lots of you will be on lots of lists. Sure, you signed up so you could get the latest free e-book, or find out about the 'biggest craze to hit the internet'. Handing over your email seemed like it was worth it for the prize you would recieve.
But was it? Was it really worth it? How many lists have you subscribed to and then unsubsribed from almost as quickly because you got tired of reading their spammy mails, their constant bombardment of your inbox with the latest trend, special offer, must have tool, or whatever?
Now most of these will come because you joined up to a list building programme. The whole purpose of these programmes is so the members can mail their offers to more people. That means YOU!
Have you noticed the difference between that and the Magnetic Sponsoring list?
How many spammy mails come through from Mike? How many 'special offers' have any MS members received from him? NONE!
And you know why?
Because he knows the purpose of a list, and that is what he is teaching all of us here at MagneticSponsoring.com!
The whole purpose of building a list is so that you can build a relationship with people! Everyone who subscribes to your list is someone you can help. Everyone who subscribes to your list is another individual that you can support, advise, and teach, - exactly as Mike has done for you. I guess your list is your chance to 'pay it forward'.
If you build a list simply to send offers and affiliate links to people who have signed up, your list will never grow. Because as soon as you start 'spamming' them, they are going to hit that unsubscribe button so fast, you will be lost in the smoke.
Remember they will have signed up for a reason. Whatever it was that you were offering is the reason they trusted you with their email address. They didn't sign up to be 'spammed' about every opportunity that you come across! I have never yet seen a subscribe button that said:
- "Yes, I want you to send me a link to every single business of which you are a member"
- "Yes, I want to hear about every business you join so that I can join up under you,"
- "Yes, send me something every day so my inbox can be clogged up"
Lets face it, how many subscribers would you get with that sort of optin message? So how can you expect to keep them if that's what you give them?
Take it from the top:
- Building a list allows you to start building relationships.
- Building relationships allows you to build trust.
- Building trust allows you to build your business!
Notice how building your business is at the bottom?
When someone has 'trusted' you with their e-mail, don't abuse it by bombarding them with 'spam'. Build upon it.
Susan
