Do You Want to be a Professional Networker Bad Enough!
I wanted to share one of my favorite short stories and I hope it keeps you going when things might seem a little tuff.
The legend is told of a young squire in the service of a great knight. The squire’s life long ambition is someday to become a knight himself. Through the years, the knight trains the squire in techniques of battle and weaponry. Being young, the squire is impatient and is prone to ask if he, the squire, is ready to officially become a knight yet. Tiring of these repeated questions, the great knight sends his squire high into the hills to seek out an old sage who had once been the greatest knight of all. After a long and arduous journey, the young squire finds the sage. “I have been sent by my liege to seek your counsel. He has told me you can determine when I shall be worthy to become a knight”. The sage answers with silence but motions for the boy to follow him to the shore of a large mountain lake. Quietly they set out in a small boat until they reached the very center of the water. “Submerge yourself in the water,” commands the mysterious sage to the squire. “Jump in?” asks the squire. The sage simply nods. The squire leaps from the boat into the frigid water. But before the boy can reemerge, the sage reaches into the water and grabs the squire’s head, holding him under. The squire kicks furiously and grabs at the still strong arm of the sage, but to no avail. The seconds drag into minutes, and finally the fight is all but gone out of the squire. At that instant, the sage lifts the boy back into the boat. Furious, gasping, fearful, and exhausted, the squire looks up at the sage. “ Why were you trying to kill me?” “I wasn’t. If I’d tried to kill you, I’d have succeeded.” “What were you doing then?” asked the squire incredulously. “Teaching you.” “Some lesson! What exactly was I supposed to learn—that you’re a crazy old coot?” “Aye, that and more.” The sage nodded serenely. “Let me ask you a question. When I had you submerged, what was going through your mind?” The squire thought a moment, his anger subsiding a bit. “Air, I thought. Air. I got to get air or I’ll die. That’s all I was thinking.” “There you have it, then, young squire. When you want to be a knight as badly as you wanted that air, you’ll become one.” Do you really want success in network marketing? When you want success as badly as the squire wanted air then you will have success. Again hope you liked it Bryce Woodard www.brycewoodard.com

I liked this story very much. I am still leaving the boat to get to the water at this point in time, but I will get back in.

You know, sometimes our greatest lessons can be learned as our ancestors knew very well by telling stories. Isn't it amazing, how you can remember a story or a good clean joke and be able to pass it on without any trouble.
Bryce, you are my kind of guy, slowing down to realize that everything that comes to us does not have to come at light speed!
Thank you very much for the story and this 59 year old man will leave you with this thought.
As a small boy, I always saw my grandfather listening to radio shows. I once asked him, "Grandpa how come you are always listening to the radio? because Johnny, it has the best pictures"!
All the best to you and your family and may we meet some day as friends.

leasons to be learned
