Do Your Artcles Look Like Couch Potatoes
Have you ever gone into a shop that was so welcoming and comfortable that you just wanted to spend all day there?
It had relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable sales people you could actually relate to who were focussed on helping customers rather than making sales. There were big comfy chairs that just beckoned you to take a load off and relax for a while. Perhaps there was even some complimentary coffee or tea and an offering of snacks to enjoy while you walked around the store. When you went into that store, you kind of felt like you’d found a home away from home, a place where you could be yourself and shop in total comfort. Many times stores like this that offer specialized attention are Mom & Pop stores, those independently run gems where the folks who are working there take pride in what they do because the business is a representation of them and their family. I’ve been in numerous stores like this, and do you know what? Not only did I buy whatever I needed, but I also couldn’t wait to come back again! To top it off I also ended up telling everyone I knew about the cool store with the wonderful ambiance and helpful staff. Stores like that stick in my mind, and I’m sure it’s the same for you. What does this have to do with article marketing, you may be wondering? Believe it or not, this has everything to do with marketing your website with articles! You see, when you have a website associated with your business, your website is basically your Mom & Pop store. Now, it doesn’t matter if you have an actual virtual store as part of your website, or if your website is a blog, or if you have a traditional website, or a one page sales page. For our purposes, any type of website is a representation of your business, and in some cases your website is your entire business. Just like with the brick and mortar Mom & Pop store, website owners are always trying to catch the attention of potential customers and draw them into their store (their website). In order to lure people in, they need to venture out of the store to reach people. We need to do the same when we're marketing our websites–we need to find a way to somehow take a little bit of the experience that we're offering at our store (our website) and show it to people who may not find out about us otherwise. This is where article marketing comes in. I like to think of each of my articles as being like big comfy chairs that I set up at numerous spots all over the internet. When someone sits in that chair, they get a taste of what I'm offering back at my real store (the website I'm trying to drive traffic to). They get answers to questions (without a sales pitch!), they receive encouragement, they get a feel for my personality. Hopefully they get a feeling of friendliness and that I'm genuinely interested in their success. I would like to suggest that we customize our approach to how we market our businesses online, so that we get across that our online businesses are much more like Mom & Pop stores that offer personalized attention. The most effective way I've found to reach across the miles and continents and establish warm relationships with potential customers is article marketing. This is how I think when I'm crafting my articles–I'm sending them out as representatives of my business. It helps to think like that, because lots of time it seems like we can get a bit of tunnel vision, being extremely focused on making sales, or trying to use our keywords, or just trying to build links. Although article marketing can do bunches of technical SEO things with gusto–when you get down to the heart of it what our potential customers want is something like a big comfy chair to plop down into, where their questions are answered in a friendly way, and where they feel like they're acknowledged as a person.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
