Does Selling Repel You From Network Marketing?


One of the main reason people avoid Network Marketing is the idea of selling.

 

But why is that?

 

Very simply, people hate to be sold!

 

No one likes to have their back against the wall and so they hate to do it to others. It is very uncomfortable to convince someone they need something when deep inside, you know they don’t. And what about this feeling of rejection!

 

This concept of selling, of pushing your agenda on the prospect without any respect for what they really want or need is creating this resistance and desire to get away from you.

 

This is the kind of selling that has prevailed in MLM for too long now. People going into an argument with their prospect assuming they want or need their business or product but just don’t have enough fact yet. Otherwise they’d buy or join.

 

This is the worst sales approach one can think of. And it takes a lot of character to sell like this. Most people say no for this reason.

 

A good prospect could see all the benefits there is in your opportunity but this sales approach will kill the deal. They won’t do it for that reason. Who wants to face rejection all the time?

 

Even if we all know rejection is the biggest problem in our business and most distributors still persist on training their new people on facing rejection. They say its part of the process. The new and more logical way of training people is to help them avoid rejection instead of facing it.

 

When you learn to attract business to you, you don’t face rejection again.

 

If someone wants to buy something, it’s their decision, not yours. You simply assist them to get what they want. 

 

So how do you get people to buy?

 

Simple… provide them things they ask for.

 

Now think about this. You think you have a product or a business everyone wants but smart marketers know only a fraction of the people will buy. This is called your “niche” market.

 

You see, marketing and sales go hand in hand. If you have good marketing practices, you’ll attract the right people and sales will be a natural.

 

There are many different ways to do marketing. There are websites, CD’s, radio, direct sales, etc. But they all serve the same purpose, only in different forms.

 

Personal interaction has always been the strongest. The reason is people do business with people they know, like and trust. And talking with someone allows you to customize your message to the individual. 

 

If a person has great sales skills but their marketing is weak, they still can succeed. How’s that possible? Well, the goal of your marketing is to attract the right people to you, saving you lots of time sorting through all the prospects. The goal of your sales process is to build a relationship with your best prospects and help them get what they want.

 

Now, Network Marketing has mostly relied on sales rather than marketing. And it works. But requires much more effort on your part because you have to talk to the right people as well as the wrong ones to find those for whom what you have is what they want.

 

In other words, a great marketing system will save you lots of time and avoid rejection until you get to the sales process.

 

There is a way to avoid rejection while in the sales process as well. I teach people how to attract lots of the right prospects to them as well as sell them without being perceived as a salesperson. In fact, when you understand how to apply sales fundamentals, people ask you to sell them.
