When I first started marketing online and using the internet I would find myself spending hour upon hour reading article after article and writing article after article with the mindset that what I was doing was going to change my life so drastically and so quickly that I would have all the time in the world to give back to my family. It was just going to have to be later and their waiting for me would be worth it.

I would wake up on the computer and would fall asleep reading some article on how to be a better attraction marketer. While I spent time in my office at the keyboard my wife and children were suffering. My relationship with my wife became stressed and I heard time after time "All you ever do is sit at this computer!" My kids would say to my wife, "He doesn't want to play he is working."

I would like to think that I was doing more than just sitting there and in fact I know I was. But each persons perception is their reality. My wifes reality was that she had a non present husband and it was the computers fault. My kids' perception was that I was always too busy to play with them.

I had to be honest and although my intentions were well designed my actions were extremely flawed. I was the non present husband and father. They were suffering and it was my fault!

Whatever you do in your business of choice when you see someone, anyone come into your office or in your presence while you are working. STOP what you are doing and take the time to spend with the ones who will love you for richer or poorer. To suspend your activity for an hour or two may just save your marriage. It will definately make it stronger if you do. As for your kids they will always remember the times you spent with them. They will resent the times you didn't and could have.
