Effective Follow-up....

The most powerful and best way to market to your new list of freshly generated leads is by using an email autoresponder.Using an autoresponder allows you to send messages to your prospect and market what it is you want to market to them all automatically.

There is way more to it than just throwing a few messages in the autoresponder and hope for the best.

We will get into what you need to do in just a minute but first of all you need to understand that if you aren't using an autoresponder, why the hell not?

If you don't have an autoresponder working for you, than you either aren't making much money or you are working way to hard to make the money that you are making.

You do need to understand that there is a right way and a wrong way to market with your autoresponder.

The type of message you send and what you say in your message does matter.  It could make the difference between a sale or not.

The proper way to structure your messages is to only use text format.  The written word sells much better than any fancy HTML email you can send.  That is if you have something of value to give to write about.

If you do decide you want to use HTML.  A recommendation would be to send a short descriptive text style message with a link to a website.  Just like we have done here.

The purpose for doing this is, that some words or phrases can trigger a spam blocker and if you put most of your content on a website then you reduce the risk of it getting blocked by a spam blocker.

Length plays a part in it as well.  Longer messages can trigger a spam filter as well.

So if you are writing lengthy messages you might want to use this technique.

Ok enough of that...

The purpose of your messages that you send with your autoresponder should be this...

You want to build a relationship with your leads.  In your first message you should always introduce yourself in one way or another and let your reader know who they are dealing with.  Also included in that message should be the item you are giving away on your capture page. (eg. E-book, Audio File, Video etc...)

You need to remember that all of your messages should give some sort of value to your reader at all cost.

The whole goal is to build a long lasting trusting relationship with your leads.  In every message you must say to yourself... "Does this message give something of value?"

If it doesn't then you might want to reconsider your message.

Another thing you must consider is are you directly trying to sell something to your reader?

Surely you are on some different mailing lists and you are bombarded by offers all the time, asking you to buy this or that.

After constantly being bombarded with offers from someone you are more likely to not read their messages after a while.  But if that person was giving you stuff you could use, then you will be more likely to open and read the message when it arrives in your inbox.

Remember, give without want, and indirectly sell them on what it is you want them to buy.

Once in a while if you directly offer them something then that is ok.  But 9 times out of 10 you want to give value in your message.

We are going to leave you with that for today.  Just remember, value and how you structure your messages plays a key role in your success.
