For free

helping others is a principle of Mentoring For Free. I am a practitioner of that group and offer to help all that ask to become successful.

If I help someone and they in turn help another we will all become successful.

Rejection Free

For me the best part is offering a helping hand. They take my hand if they are looking for answers, struggling and frustrated. It takes personal contact. If they are not ready yet, or do not need assistance, we part with a smile and the friendship still intact. That feels good. Almost as good as it did when I had people reach down and take my hand when I needed it most. It changed my life.

with sincere gratitude,

No Charge.

Anyone can make money.

But I am a firm believer in the idea money can't buy friends.

So while I am making friends I will not be charging.  We have been reminded recently how fickle money is, "friends are for life."

Very interesting commentary

but I have to ask you all - what did you get into network marketing for?  To make friends or to make money?  If it's for friendship you should go to facebook or your local church.  If you want to make money you should get serious about working on your "business".

Hello, I've got an agenda!

I used to think the way you think and then I realized I got it backwards. I need to make money, TODAY. I most certainly do have an agenda and denying it was being untrue to my self.

Now I mentor and coach people within my business and together we enjoy the financial success we are all set out for. And, that’s what network marketing is about, helping other people make money.

For my self

I started out giving away all my products.  I did not care about money.   I just wanted to help people.  I would give away thousands of dollars worth of Product that most people would not even use.  .  Then I found out you can make money with MLM.  Then I spent 1000 trying to make money "TODAY".  Then I made friendships and built a Team and now I Love what I do.  Because I work with People I love and love me.  It took less time for me then Direct Sales and it FEELS so good.

Good to know who has AGENDA's  I will stay away from you two. Try your agenda method on Facebook

Relationships will build your business...

Contrary to some peoples beliefs, social communities, such as this one, are about... socializing.  They are not about selling anything.
I've learned that from brilliant marketers with a lot of experience.
Build relationships and relationships will build your business.
Here is a recipe for failure in network marketing:
Instant gratification and welfare mentality combined with lack of integrity ...

I appreciate you,

You are right

My apologies.  Each and every one of us has the right be feel respected and honoured and cherished regardless of what company we are in or what system we use to build our businesses.  I understand exactly what you are saying.  I used to repeat it as well.  I've moved on and I wish you success with your chosen method of building a business.

Infinate Circle Of Giving...

Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone would just take care of one another, without an Agenda....

All I can do is be an example and hope that those who are not yet there will someday figure it out!  Unconditional Love.....  The greatest gift is Love!  Thank you for always being here for me Juanita, taking care of me, spending time with me and never expecting anything in return!  You are an inspiration and a true mentor/leader with a servant's heart!

Call on my Mentor

If I call on my mentor(s) because of lack of understanding or just misunderstanding my mentor(s) because we are a team call me in person and set me straight or give me constructive criticism in my best interest.  Then I am back on track.  If they didn't care they would let me go on my way and fail.  I am lucky...failure is not an option.  The owners of my company support me as well as my team.  Up Close and PERSONAL is an staggering thing when it is for your success

Cynthia and Jam... — Thu, 12/11/2008 - 12:43pm

I like meeting new people and making friends...

If I share all of my knowledge with someone, it makes me feel good to know that I have helped someone and asked for nothing in return?

Isn't that why this site was started originally back in its pre-BetterNetworker stage?  Give Without Want?  So when we try to practice that, why do people get chastised here for doing just that?

I try to use this site as it is supposed to be used:  As a Social Networking site.  There have been so many abuses of people advertising their companies it is almost nauseating.  They definitely have an agenda.  That agenda is to get someone to join them...no relationship...just give me your money and sign up.

I have the same beliefs as Daniela:

Contrary to some peoples beliefs, social communities, such as this one, are about... socializing.  They are not about selling anything.
I've learned that from brilliant marketers with a lot of experience.
Build relationships and relationships will build your business.
Here is a recipe for failure in network marketing:
Instant gratification and welfare mentality combined with lack of integrity ...

This is the absolute truth.

Thanks Juanita.  Thanks Daniela

Getting Serious.

I am serious about my business.

Social sites are not my business.

Anyone else watch the video Mike Dillard recommended in his latest email?

Helping people without an agenda

Juanita,

I will accept your offer of friendship without an agenda.  I am new to this site.  I have already received some really good advice.  Doesn't it all boil down to one thing though?  People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care.  If you can offer me any free advice on how to build a successful business on-line, I would completely welcome it.

True friendship is free

As you rightly pointed out, this is about building lasting relationships that will sustain the test of time.  If I have a hidden agenda the foundation of the relationship will be like building a house on sand.  And because of the experiences shared we know that giving freely of ourselves and our time goes a long way in building trust within the minds of other network marketers.

Help Enough People

I'll defer to the famous quote by Zig Ziglar, "If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want."

I will help others for free to build their business, because others have helped me and gave of their time for free (and some not in my pay line) that I may learn this awesome business.

My personal friend and mentor has, and continues to make a very comfortable income in his MLM business, and gives back to the industry by showing others what it takes to be successful who have been beat up,  chewed up and spit out by MLM.

Its a great way to get a university degree in network marketing, without the student loans. And as a sidenote, it works for all the color personalities.

Just my 2 cents....

Kevin Brake — Thu, 12/11/2008 - 9:57pm

you mean those free ebook offers have no agenda?

Yeah right! lololololol.

Friends with no adgenda, I love it! It's wonderful... business building advice from a professional (read: someone who gets paid to give me results) awesome!

Can the two go together? Sure.... I love shopping from my friends and buying from the recommendations of my friends. I know they will give me solid, unbiased advice.

Your heart comes through the words and people can sense that, as easily as they can sense when someone is working with an agenda.  That's something you just can't hide!

I Have Yet to Meet the Person Who Has "Too Many Friends!"

Safe to say, nobody here has too many friends. Most people in this work-a-day world can count their friends on the fingers of one hand.

Question:  who can you call in the middle of the night who would: pick you up at the airport? Loan you $50.00 to get you kid's prescription? Watch your dog (or cat, or plants) on short notice? Be there for you after a bad breakup? You got names to go with these scenarios?

A Friend for Life is worth more than her weight in Gold!  I'm in!

Thanks for your kind offer, Juanita, and I accept!

While Some "Free" Ebooks DO Have A Hidden Agenda...

...I've found that this one doesn't--unless Paying-it-Forward is considered an "agenda".  I've learned why my previous lack of success wasn't my fault, and feel fortunate enough to help others understand how they can build their businesses through building relationships!

"AGENDA" May Not Be The Right Word

Dear Juanita,

I don't think "AGENDA" is the right word to use here.

I believe what you're really trying to say is that you have no "EXPECTATIONS".  For example, you dont "Expect" a gift from someone just because you do them a favor.  You don't "Expect" that someone will join you in your business just because you've befriended them on a social networking site.  When someone downloads your free e-book, you don't "Expect" that they will automatically value and appreciate the information as much as you do.

Is that, perhaps, what you really mean to say?

Personally, as a professional network marketer, I have an Agenda ... a big, fat one!  Here's just a small sampling:

  • Follow up with leads - an Agenda!
  • Place ads - an Agenda!
  • Update my blogs - an Agenda!
  • Train my team - an Agenda!
  • Answer emails - an Agenda!
  • Search engine submissions - an Agenda!
  • Personal development - an Agenda!

I appreciate Betternetworker and all the lively, interesting conversations going on here.  I don't stop by very often.  But I think I better add "participate in BN forum discussions" to my Agenda!

Positively,

The Rules to life....

I have been told by alot of "well to do" people that if you help others get what they want you will get what you want. I believe this principle and know that it is even ten fold. The laws of abundance are simple, and I choose to have abundance in my friendships, family and finances! You go girl! Put me on your friend list!

Drop Agenda

Its best if you drop your agenda. It gets you to focus on listening to the prospect and what he has to say. Prospects don't care about how great your opportunity is, they care about getting their problems solved. For that to happen you need to respond to what he tells you and he needs to like the responses to his statements and questions good enough for him to want to do business with you.

I really Love your approach....

Meg and I have helped people achieve their dreams for the last 30 years.  I can really attest to what you are saying in this article.  We help people help themselves.. I realized that our dreams are not their dreams... And to achieve great success, you must first help people to get what they want.  Sounds like Zig Ziegler to me.....

Good luck in all you do... And most of all, keep yours and everyones dreams alive.....

Anthony & Meg Sama — Wed, 12/17/2008 - 1:23pm

your posts contradict themselves

"So I do not care what Company you are in or where your head is at.  If you are open to being Friends on Some level  I am ready to Recieve your Friend Ship." - does not seem you are very open at all if you do not care what soever where someones head's at.

"you do not need to understand how a acorn becomes a oak." - harshly disagree with this wording. Yes of course we do not know where our friendships will take us but the metaphor of an acorn turning into an oak tree is your friendship developing into something special, you are going to tell me one does not need to understand how someones friendship and relationship develops so long as it happens?
