Failure in 10 Steps
This is a 'HOW TO'  article written to those people who are frustrated with their lack of success in network marketing and still cannot figure out what caused their ultimate failure and demise in this wonderful industry.  If you can identify with any of the following steps to failure you could have the possible cause for your lack of success..  I have grouped together various Internet phenomena that I have observed that many people fall prey to.  I am sure that I am missing other so called 'Opportunities For Failure' but I believe this gives a general idea of what is out there in 'Internet Land'
1. Have a Welfare Mentality
This is by far, in my humble opinion, the leading cause of failure.  Expecting something for nothing.  Someone who has this type of mentality will never be successful..  Oh Yeah!  I have heard it before.  You see some sexy guy or gal sitting on a beach with their laptop open and the caption says " I just made $5000 while vacationing at the beach and I didn't have to do anything".  If you believe that is true, then someone will be pitching you the deed to a bridge in New York City that you can have for only one payment of $199.95. So what does the 'Welfare Mentality' person do?  They review the information and sign up for scam #101.  Maybe it is an Aussie 2 up scam or maybe some sort of "Gifting Program", but when all is said and done you are out money with no support and no hope. Most people didn't have time to read the policy and procedure section (if there was one). Please be very wary as this so called nice company, with their team of lawyers will have every advantage in their favor and before you can say "What Happened?" this nice company has cut your bonus check or dropped your account for cause.
Another typical ad that you see on traffic exchanges goes something like this:  " How I made $10,476 in 7 days on my computer working less that one hour per day".  This again is the very rare case that you can make this type of money for workig ony one hour a day.
Unfortunately in this world you must DO WORK to earn a living.  Anything else is pure BS.  But what about the video proof and the check that 'shows' how much money the mysterious 'they' made?  This is called enticement and it is illegal.  Do not be fooled by make believe checks and claims of outlandish earnings.  If they could only show you their income tax return then perhaps I would be a believer.  It basically come down to this:  'Common Sense'  If it was so easy to make this type of money with little work then everyone woul be doing it.  Doesn't that make more sense now?

2. Listen to the Gurus
This is the belief that the only way to be successful is to listen to the marketing gurus who will help you for a reduced price of only $199 (when the course they expound is clearly worth $999, and they list the cost of each item to convince you).  They are the only people who know anything about working on the Internet and you must follow their methods if you are to be successful.  It will only cost $29.95 per month for your website splash page hosting, $39.95 for your auto responder (you can't live without that) and $199 (one time fee) for a weekly eletter that will tell you how to make money with Pay Per Clicks,Social Marketing Sites, Adwords, and Ezine articles, and how he or she has figured out how to outwit Google. WOW! Now it the time to quit your day job becuz' "you'se gunna be rich".
Are you getting the idea that these things will not work for you?  I am sure they work for somebody (like the guy or gal pitching you the hype), but for the 98% failures is didn't, doesn't and won't.  Back to square one!  Get a mentor that does not have their hand in your pocket and is not expounding get rich quick schemes. The key is this: If the help you are getting is costing you money then look else where and get Mentoring for Free.
