Fake it and you will Never Make it.

The term "fake it until you make it" is a term that I have heard more and more lately. This term however is counter productive when it comes to reaching your goals. Success is more than positive thinking or carrying yourself in a certain way. Success, if it is real, is a part of the fabric of who you are. There is no faking success. Either you are successful or you are not.

Now don't jump to conclusions about what I am saying here. I am not saying that just because you have not reached your goals that you are not successful. What I am saying is that if you are faking success, it is not real. Successful people just are. I don't care if you are a person who has never had success in your life, you can make the decision right now to BE successful.

Be is the key word because success is a state of being. Just because you have not achieved something does not mean that you have to fake success. Once the decision is made to be successful, you are successful because the decision has been made and the mindset has already determined the outcome.

This is especially true in Network Marketing. There are a lot of people in this industry that are faking success, hoping for a miracle, but not willing to do what it takes to be successful and in this case, success will never come to these people regardless of how good they are at faking it.

Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and do what is necessary. You are never going to get reliable information from a free Ebook or useless resource. Real information that can help your business is valuable and the dollar amount cannot be calculated.

You can continue to fake success if you want to, or you can take action and be a success.

I Disagree!!

Sorry Chris I could not stand on the side of that point of view.  You must first see yourself successful. Books are great for helping you change your mindset to a positive more better outlook.  Everyone tries to change their results the problem is they never can change the outside without changing within.

Mike Dillard I beleive would even agree wholeheartedly. I have quantifiable information based on science not opinion for my stand. Yes, it's true that faking it will not get you there but you must adopt a mindset.

Before Action must come belief and that starts in the mind of anyone seeking success.

Faking It

The books give one the instructions. Personalized tutoring puts the instructions into action. Mind set is not a one time achievement it is an on going process. It is better served when a group of similar thinking people are involved in each others development. It becomes a life time endiver.

Your Mind Doesn't Know the Difference...

I am going to agree with Ray on this one.

Research has shown that your conscious mind doesn't really know the difference between your actually achieving something vs your acting like you have already achieved it with the point being that faking it until you make it actually moves you towards your goal of "making it" faster than if you don't fake it.

Does this mean that you lie to potential team members and tell them you are raking in thousands a month when you are actually in the red?  I don't think so.  But, to me, it does mean that you carry yourself and speak as if you are a great success long before you have actually met the goals that define success for yourself.

I get your point Chris

Your right on point with the BEing. Thats where everything starts: be-do-have. We have to see our selves as being successful before we would do successful things and eventually have the success we desire. You can't fake the being and it has nothing to do with telling people lies ablout your income and the like... it has everything to do with realizing before you actualize what you want out of life!

I think it maybe mis-understood by other readers who seem to be supporting what you've said by reinterpreting the BE yet thinking they are disagreeing....confused yet? read it again!

Hooked on a Feeling

Sometimes people fake it because they're trying to not be a drag on another person (who wants to talk to a sales rep that is sniveling over personal stuff? aren't sales rep always supposed to be sunny?), or to fulfill someone's expectations...   though as we all know just because you fake an emotion doesn't mean you've felt it.

Faking is an action word, a verb, and it requires effort and premeditation to fake. Feelings just happen, and they can be beautiful. You've only really made it when you FEEL like you've made it.
