Fear Of Success

Being in business for yourself requires a lot of hard work in order to be successful.  Prospecting is one of the major requirements to succeed.  Prospecting is not always easy.  It's fulfilling, but not easy.

One of the reasons, I believe, makes it challenging is that sometimes people fear success.  Your body experiences a ton of emotions when you are succeeding.  Adrenaline flows, you feel excited, overwhelmed, queezy - all at once.  Then you actually become afraid.  Because, what does success really mean to you?  Your mind starts to race.  You suddenly advance your life by years and bgan to think of what you will be doing and where you'll be a few years down the road.  It's a dream come true.  We all have thought, if I had a million dollars; or, when I get that first million...

Think about it.  This is probably what happens to people when they hit the mega-million dollar lottery and they suddenly disappear.  The emotional feelings and adrenaline can take one out of their comfort zone.  They're not sure how to handle the feeling of success.  It's a GREAT feeling, but perhaps not a comfortable feeling for everyone.

Then there are those that don't believe they're capable of accomplishing success.  They want it, so they say, yet they never get into "action mode".  No action, No change.  Be careful with this type when prospecting.  These are the people that will join you in your venture and never do anything to succeed.  It's very important to interview people who want to succeed in life.  If you have ambition and drive, you look for those that will display the same personality traits as youself.  You see with us, there is no fear of success.  We embrace those warm and fuzzy feelings.  We actually become addicted to them.

In my mentoring, coaching and training, I teach people how to embrace the feelings of success.  When the NBA and NFL players sign their first million dollar contracts, they know one thing; they are going to be millionaires.  Now their team of coaches and mentors make them take classes that teach them How To Be A Millionaire.  It's the same concept when you become successful in business.  Think rich, feel rich, and you will become rich.

Success is a feeling we dream about regularly and when it happens, if it hasn't already; will you fear it or embrace it?
