Goals For the New Year
We all make goals for the New Year, but how many of
us actually acheive our goals?
I was listening to a call last nite and that made a lot
of sense in goal setting and acheiving. The speaker
said,"the biggest reason most poeple fail to
achieve their goals is because they reward themselves
for acheiving the goal". He said you would be far
more likely to acheive you goal if there was a
punishment for not acheiveing it. That sound so
logical once you stop and think about it. So this
year when you set you goals for the new year. Set
your punishement if you do not succeed.
Some of his examples of punishment were to pay his
ex-spouse that he hated $500.00. He said to find a
charity that you didn't like and make that your
punishment a donation to that charity. Your punshiment
has to be harsh enough to keep you on track to acheive
your new goals.

An Interesting Take on Goalsetting
It is true we do more to avoid pain, than we do to gain pleasure. I will see what painful things I can come up with, if do not achieve my (realistic) goal!

How often we will do so much to avoid the pain or displeasure of something but might not put the extra effort required for a reward. Thanks for bringing this goal aetting system to my attention.

My Goals for the New Year!
I am definitely doing a little bit at a time to achieve my goals. That was an interesting point about goal-setting. My goals are to work from home full time and spend more time with my family. I have other goals but I don't want to turn this comment to an article. :>) Everyday I am taking the necessary measures to achieve my goals, one step at a time. Thanks for a great post...
