(gr) attitude
Hello all dear friends and networkers.
Today I was sittnig at work and read something that truly inspired me. I'm going to quote it here below.
Attitude
"The longer I live, the more I realise the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think ot say or do. It is more imporant than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes." by Charles Swindoll
Now, I hadn't read something so true in a very long time! And it's really inspiring. Somedays we don't even realise how many positive things happen to us, only because we wake up with a negative attitude that morning. And then other days, the most horrible things may happen, but we are determined to overcome all hurdles to make things happen for us. Do we make our own destiny, or is it all part of a masterplan? I believe there's a little bit of both! And that brings me back to one of my favourite quotes in one of my favourite movies Forrest Gump: "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get".
I know that if I'm convinced enough about something, then everything is possible. There will always be obstacles, there will always be influence from other people or external things that we cannot handle. And sometimes, even if we do everything we can, we might still fail for reasons beyond our control. But we can at least say that we tried. Which brings me to another phrase I love "It's better to regret something you did, than something you didn't do" Now that's one of my philosophies in life! Everytime I'm scared to do something, I think about that, and then I do it. By personal experience, I know how hard it is when we regret not doing something.
So... the point of this article is simple. I'm grateful for all the choices I can make every day of my life. I'm grateful because many of these choices that we take for granted, are not even an option to millions of people out there in the World. Think about something as simple as "Hmm what am I going to put on my bread this morning" is not an option for so many people! We are such lucky people. I think about this when I'm feeling down, mainly when I find myself struggling to continue with my home-based business, I try to look at things from a brighter perspective "man, I'm lucky that I even have a home based business!" even if I'm not getting any magical results (hey, only been here 2 months!) I'm trying to do something here, so that's got to mean something. And it does... it's all in my attitude.
Homework for you, if you have read this: Think about how powerful your attitude can be whenever you're facing any situation in your life. The way you interpret things, experiences, words, interactions, etc. says a lot about you and your success in whatever it is you are trying to achieve.
Thanks for reading!
