Great Insight Regarding Self Control

Today I began a book called "The Kingship of Self-Control" by William George Jordan.

He talks about the impact that having self-control will create in our lives if we do not yet have it.  We are capable of attaining self-control in greater things by practicing self-control in small things.  For example, if we want to reach a goal that requires a large amount of effort and dicipline on our behalf, we cannot expect ourselves to live up to those expectations due to the fact that we merely are not putting forth effort and dicipline to reach small goals.

In order for  us to reach success we have to pay the price.  How Much?

The price is only accepted in small increments. I love the concept that he exposes us to when he says that the universe does not accept a lump sum amount as payment for the attainment of our goals.  It only accepts small amounts.  Meaning everyday we have to disperse acts of self-control in small areas of our lives little by little and that that is the only payment to receive our rewards (achievement of our goals).  By recognizing and therefore conquering our weakness little by little. Whether it's in respect to worry, laziness, or cowardness, it is possible to overcome a weakness and gain self-control by living everyday as if it were our last.  This process is accomplished easier by practicing losing regrets from our past and letting go of results.

Hello Raquel, Paul Murphy here...

Great article Raquel! Great because it helps me to reflect on some battles and issues I'm having recognizing and dealing with a few of my own weaknesses.  I feel I'm on track, because I can recognize the loss of self control, and take a last day approach to overcome it.  Things get put into perspective when you consider that today may very well be your last day! The self worth issue is the Mother of all Issues, and once I break down the walls of doubt, fear, and uncertainty, the world and universe will accomodate me!

Nice to meet you Raquel!

Paul

Thanks

 Hi Raquel

You just wrote enough to call my attention and certainly I would look for the book to get into it more deeply. It might have some answers for me as why I have not reach some of my goals. It make sense that self control in little thing will get you to more greater things In the other hand practice to live this day as your last is a difficult task having your mind set looking at the past and towards the future. It is a task that require a lot of discipline. Looking forward to hear more...........   Nice to meet  you Sandra  http://www.acquirebenefitsgroup.com/4freedom55
