Welcome Liz!!
Welcome to Betternetworker.com and way awesome, you're a pilot. One of my dreams is flying. Oh yeah. Now that would be so cool to see happen one day.
You'll enjoy the forum Liz, and it's a great place to learn, and contribute knowledge, value and people will appreciate it too.
I think there are some other pilots in the forum. I am very sure, I seen a couple already. I think pilot is just awesome life. I bet you see a world so different up there.
I always wanted to know what is it that gets people to learn and do it. Is it the flying feeling? Or seeing the sky, or being up there, or just enjoying flying. You got to tell me oneday, why. I always wanted to ask a pilot but never had a chance to meet them and ask.
For now, welcome Liz to an awesome community of amazing people, and I hope you have an awesome new year coming.
Now You Have Your BN Wings
Welcome officially.
What is the most helpful thing you have learnt so far?
You Inspire!
Hi Liz,
My new friend Dean was inspired by this introduction and created a post for it that you can read here.
So I decided to check out who inspired him & also to welcome you to this forum. So far I've only been here a few weeks and as you can see, I still have much work to do with my profile; however, I am real and I'm working on getting my photo up!
My first impression: Great site and there is so much that can be learnt here, so take advantage of this cost effective way of adding value to yourself!
See you around!
Thanks guys!!!!!!
First of all thanks Adam,Dean and Rasheed for taking the time to respond.
Firstly Adam yes i could write a whole book on why i love flying!!!!!!! It is truelly an amazing thing to do and i have been so fortunate to follow my dream and learn to fly....it is for me the most liberating, joyful thing to do and when i take off into the sky above i feel as free as a bird....i know that sounds cheesy but the sensation of being at the controls of an aircraft and flight is amazing and i have to tell you that i was addicted from day one...they say once you have the avgas in your blood it is hard to get out of your system...trust me that is so true and my hip pocket has a huge hole burnt in it!!!!
Adam i say just get your behind down to your local flying club and go for a tif flight (trial introductory flight) ...i had always wanted to fly as a young girl and felt a bit intimidated but just thought "hey i've got nothing to lose and if i end up looking like a d*%k it does'nt matter, i want to explore the possibility" and im glad i did, because you only got one life and i found a passion that i will enjoy for the rest of my life!!!
Dean, from the land of the long white cloud, thanks for asking about what is the most useful thing i have learnt from betternetworker so far (only been on here 2 weeks) but would have to say just don't sit around like a stunned mullet, be yourself and put yourself out there....don't sit on the sidelines,be an active participant....start by going to forums that grab your eye and what content you wish to learn, add comments, ask questions and soon you will find people willing to help!!! Its not about pitching your business its about first building relationships,INTERACTING, learning and yes Rasheed agree adding value to yourself so that oneday you can then pass on your learnings and help others!!! (if you don't participate in this community do you indeed participate in your business that well...don't wait to be perfectly polished just keep it real and get out there it has surprised even myself!!!!).....you learn by doing.
Thanks again guys for adding your comments and i look forward to interacting with all of you.
Actually i would be very interested to know on other newbies experiences here and if it has been overwhelming, easygoing or downright intimidating and what is your expectations of this site?
Welcome

Welcome to the community Liz!
Hi Liz,
I loved flying so much I became a flight attendant for the largest airline here in the U.S. for about a year after having worked in corporate world for over twenty years (it was on my list of things to do!). I met my husband who is a commercial pilot on the Boeing 757/767 and does international flying.
When I was a flight attendant, there are so many sights that are just once-in-a-lifetime moments while you are flying. Some of the more memorable sights for me: Looking out and seeing the volcanic tops along the western Pacific coast as you approach Seattle, flying up the coast and seeing the fog lying amongst all the valleys below, looking down at the Aspens over Colorado (or the snow during the wintertime and all the ski resorts), seeing the space shuttle take off from Cape Canaveral as we were flying down the coast of Florida, seeing the dawn toward the East and not knowing where the black skies of space begins and the daylight from the sun touches it. I even got to sit in the cockpit once when we ferried a plane from one point to another to have it fixed and there was no one on the plane. Scary feeling looking into the sky as you take off and awesome seeing the runway lights from the distance as you approach to land!" My husband says it is "just a job." Yeah right! It does have its good points (at times).
It really is a feeling of freedom and memories that last a lifetime.
Welcome again to BetterNetworker. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
Dianne
Hello Liz
Liz,
I love reading what you have learned so far, that's exactly what I have learned I thought I had to just say hi and pitch my business but that's not the case at all. Even today I did an open house for a friend she had me put my candles and another lady put her jewelry up, we talked and got to know each other she was amazed at our company, since our investment is very low, and she has to keep investing money each year. I just listened and talked to her like a friend she ended up buying product from me and was amazed how easy it is for me to sell the product. I just smiled and said it's fun, she only had one sale. But I'll remain her friend and now she has my product which I know she will love, Some people think you can't show your personality on the net, ohhhhh yes you can LOL...just keep being you..I'm so glad we are getting to know each other, thanks for the message earlier.. see you around :o)
Thanks David,Dianne and Natalie
Thanks David,Dianne and Natalie for posting your comments!!
Nat i think you have a big personality and think you will go a very long way with your business and hey we all make mistakes (i've made heaps just don't tell my passengers that!!!!!! ) and it has been great to meet you online!!!!
Dianne, thanks for sharing your story all as i can say is wow that would have been an amazing day seeing the space shuttle take off from Cape Canaveral bet you have'nt forgotten that day!!!! My instructor was an ex TAA and Ansett airline captain and he would say the same thing about flying the jets (just another day at the office!!!!)......i guess when your at the infancy of your career flying little 6 seat putt putts around it is all still new and exciting (i was overjoyed when i got to fly my first twin engine plane...piper seminole...i thought all my christmas had come at once!!!).....i can'nt wait to connect more with you in the future and thanks for making yourself known to me....
Thanks everyone for offering help and assistance i guess now that i am getting through Mikes courses (loving every bit of blackbelt and traffic formula) where i need guidance is with a separate website that i can start promoting "liz inc" and not use my companys generic site (i know now why this won't work!!!!!) and put into play Mikes teachings......boy my eyes have been going round in circles but understand the principles....if anyone can help out with website development, more about attraction marketing etc please let me know...
Cheers,
Liz
