Having a successful home business does not have to be just a dream. There are thousands of people today who have actually achieved great success by working from the comfort of their own homes. This article is about avoiding the hustle and finding a great opportunity that actually will deliver the goods instead of just false promises.

Everyone has heard of some poor friend or relative who was fleeced in to some sort of MLM scam at one time or another. Long gone are the days where you have to end up with attics and garages full of shampoo and products you will never use. You should never enter a business that indulges in front-loading you, the representative, with goods that will become a liability to sell.

Many new entrepreneurs fall into the trap of falling for all the hype about how much money they can make based on amplified stories of what others are making. They fail to do their due diligence on the company itself. One of the most important things to check for is how long has the company that you are going to represent  been in operation. You should further check the business model of the company and carefully go over the testimonials of the people endorsing the company. If the product is a non-consumable you should probably steer clear.

Network marketing is a skills business. You also need to have the correct mindset.  If the company that you are selling does not have a system that allows you to get benefit from an extensive training program and/or a mentor then you are likely to waste a lot of time and money going through the learning curve on your own.

Perhaps it’s a time to examine a home business that will do all of the above for you and be a great long-term business that could be seen as a steady income. Whether you are doing this business as a source of primary income or secondary, the most important thing to consider is that you should be serious about committing to it and following the instructions of your mentor and guru. Xango is one such business that qualifies as a great home business for novices who want to become home based entrepreneurs.

Xango has been in business for over 5 years and has all ready topped the 5 Billion dollar mark. They are projecting to do over 1 Billion in revenue in their 7th year alone with the addition of their two newest lines, the 3Sixty5 vitamins and Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care.  Xango offers consumable products that give a great value for money. Not only do you get the health benefits of the product yourself but also so do the others who come under you as your own team.

Another benefit of a company such as this with a 5 year+ history is that they have many coaches and trainers available to you. Nadira Haniff is one of the coaches involved with Xango and currently offers a training program called 180 Days To Greatness. This is actually a marketing experiment where she is taking 25 individuals, regular folks like you and I over a 6 month time period and teaching and coaching them to bring their business to a new level. The goal of these 25 folks is to each put 100 new representatives into their organization in the next 180-200 days.

Can it be done?  Only time will tell. You are invited to follow along at www.180daystogreatness.com Would you like to be a part of it? www.180DaysToSuccess.com

Rock Solid Businesses

I agree that you must choose a company with a solid history and a product that your consumers will see value in. However, I have to point out that there are many network marketing companies who have been in business much longer than 5 years and are making billions of dollars. Not only do I represent a company that is over 30 years old, we actually were invited to be publically traded on the New York Stock Exchange after 4 years in business !!!

However, it's not just about my business. There are multiple business in this industry that are rock solid and that have a history and a proven record of success. If a company is only in existence for 5 years I would be more concerned with the products or services they are offering than their length of time in business. Many business can stay in business for 5 years and make billions of dollars. Few business have ever been invited to the New York Stock Exchange in less than 5 years after starting up. Few businesses actually offer their customers the opportunity to save money while spending money as opposed to just spending money on a product. Few products and companies provide customers peace of mind so I agree with you that you must have a product that is valuable to the customer but if I were looking into a company for the first time, 5 years isn't long enough for me to just go ahead and validate that. The products and services would be where you would "sell" me.

Just a point from a personal opinion you might consider because there may be others out there who think like I do and when pitching it you might consider some people don't think 5 years is a very long time so I would focus a lot more on your products and services you offer the people. Again, just an option and an opinion.

However, if you want to check out our company of over 30 years old, making billions of dollars in profits, and has endorsements from United States Attorney Generals, President of the United States Chamber of Commerce, USA Today, Money Magazine, and many others.  In fact, our company was quoted by USA Today as saying "this looks like healthcare before it became a trillion dollar industry".  Timing couldn't get better with us as we are on the front end of a trend.

Appreciate the feedback

Amelia,

I do appreciate your feedback. However, while I agreee with you in principle, this article is really focused on the majority and if you have been around the block a while as it sounds like you have then you are aware that that most of the newbies fall for the hype out there with all of these start up biz opps and digital software companies. Here today gone tomorrow. On another note, while I am using Xango as an example you will note I am not pitching the Xango Opportunity. Neither of my links got to a business opp. I am simply trying to educate and to ofer a hands on training course that will walk any body in any business through their 1st 180 days till they are completely on their feet and in profit. I am strictly here t build relationships and to help others. ot sell them another biz opp. Everybody here alreadyhas one..

Home-based Business will be

Home-based Business will be on a lot of people's mind if it already isn't. People typically get involved through someone they know and therefore aren't typically apt to do serious due diligence on the company, products or services.

I just encourage people considering a network marketing or direct sales company to ask yourself what are your interests. What could you get passionate about? I tried health and wellness and though I liked the products, I wasn't too keen on buying products to give to people who weren't exactly very health concious to begin with. Some liked my products but most people had a built-in criticism like, it's too expensive, this tastes funny, how do you know this works, has anybody ever gotten deathly ill from this stuff, etc. :)

I tried the 30 year old company and I couldn't get excited about that either. It wasn't sexy enough for me and... good company but wrong financial vehicle FOR me.

Now, I am jazzed about what I do! I represent an industry that grows at a $1,000,000 per minute and practically everyone in the world is affected by it. If you're reading this comment right now then you're affected by it but chances are you aren't generating income directly from it. I am!

My mentor says, "there are two types of people in this world, those who pay the bills and those who get paid on the bills." Well I'm happy to be part of the second group!

The secret recipe for success in your HBB is to find your passion, learn and grow, model success around you by taking the "right action", and train others to do the same.

Continued Success,
