One of the real secrets of home business success is that the most successful online marketers are often the best learners. They are students of marketing. They devour marketing information like a shark devours prey. However, one of the recent debates is about whether free or paid information is better with regards to enhancing your marketing knowledge. I believe there are pros and cons to both.

With free education, well, you don’t have to pay a cent. But then again, how much do you value your time? Free information is all well and good, but they are often understandably incomplete. Sometimes free info, like those at forums, are scattered all over the place, so the learning curve is much steeper. Remember, while you can always earn back your money, time lost is gone forever.

Paid information, on the other hand, costs money. But it often comes in complete packages that you can take action on right away. Most paid products are complete systems by themselves that you can use to start making profits immediately. In fact, sometimes, you can even model your entire business based on the information in a quality product that you bought. Sometimes, following one guru is all you need to be successful online.

This argument will rage on, but in my opinion, while you should make the best use of free information, don’t be afraid to invest in your Internet marketing education. If you invest in the products that relate to your business model and interests, and not just buy everything new under the sun, and you take action on the information, you will go further than most do in this business.
