How do you know if you are setting yourself up for failure?

Okay, so let's start off by saying this “Nobody wants to fail”. It's a simple little quote with not much meaning anymore because it's so totally obvious. So why is it that there is a 5% rule, that 5% of anybody that’s starting an online business opportunity or really anything for that matter will succeed and 95% will fail? Now these numbers could be off by a percent or two but it's pretty damn high. So if we could somehow set ourselves up with a little warning system and actually listen to it then we should dramatically increase our success rate and send our failure rate packing.

I like to point out some areas of personal discovery and how I came to realize whether or not I was setting myself up for failure. Now this in no way is the same personal discovery that you will have, and I truly encourage you to take a look at your yourself and really past failures because there is nothing truer then “we can definitely learn from our mistakes or at least try”. I point out some my personal flaws and “Failure Lights” so I call them in hopes that somebody reading this might relate or do the something and then can learn from it. My Failure lights

  • Distraction

This is huge for me. It could be one of the most fatal mistakes I consistently encourage myself not to become mixed up in. Call it the drive to succeed, the willingness to achieve or both with a splash of ADD (ADD lets hope not)Let’s take for example, Online Marketing. Now this in itself is a task that demands 100% attention. So it's not the marketing that gets me it's the options. Some examples would be: Will it be best to advertise over here? Is this really going make sense to the reader should I try something different? What if I did this and not that…. and the list goes on. The disappointing things about distraction is that you can get distracted too long and you really end up doing nothing. You focus your time and energy on what should be getting done, but that's just it Time and Energy, Not Action. So my personal cure for this is to just ACT. I can actually feel myself getting distracted and I really know when it's happening. I could do one of two things, go with it and ignore it or ACT!!!I have to really make a conscious decision to do something and take physical action!Commit myself and act on my commitment.

  • Lack Of Motivation

This is something we all fight from time to time, some more then others. Motivations will cause you to act and lack of it will keep you distracted. See a pattern? What personally motivates you? How can you get more out of it? My motivation comes from places like these, professional forms were people hang out, where I can read personal stories and admire to obtain greatness in some instances. It's really important to keep yourself in a motivated feel-good state, (without drugs preferably, ha ha) Lack of motivation I feel is one of the big killers in this industry along with lack of self commitment. We all know what lack of motivation does to a person so I won’t spend great time going into this, but I want to talk about what motivation can do for us.Motivation can seriously take you to the next level. You can allow yourself to decide, commit, and succeed. When I personally feel myself having a lack of motivation I go to places like this, read other people's bios and articles, pick up a good read like magnetic sponsoring by Mike Dillard, or go play with my little girl and boy to get the blood flowing back to the right places. So you job is to find out what motivates you and consistently stay motivated and bring motivation to the table. You truly know and understand what motivates you so go get more of it.

  • Confidence

You need this above all else. If you don't have this then you have a huge hill to climb and I personally would not even attempt without confidence. If you truly are lacking this and only you will know, it's time to start taking some classes reading some books and start hanging out with some people that can boost your confidence. So I am going to assume that you have some sort of confidence, you've got to be sure of something. Tacking that into consideration I also understand that it may be lacked sometimes. So how to get more confidence, build self-confidence, be sure of oneself. This part comes easy for me and it might for you as well depending on how you’re built. Admiration builds confidence for me personally. When I read books watch videos or listen to guys like Warren Buffett, Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Mike Dillard, Corey Citron ( Frank Kerns  funny but damn confident) just to name a few. Find someone that makes you think about what you're doing and how you can do it better. Honestly does not have to be someone with extreme wealth you pick, you choose, you decide. Mike goes over this in his course in what's called the alpha male and for you ladies the alpha female. If you ever watch the show the apprentice you get a good idea of how confident Donald Trump is he's not afraid to cut people off, his stern demeanor demands attention.
Warren Buffett understands, is committed and is very confident about the decision he makes in any of his business ventures.
Robert Kiyosaki, I was on a conference call with Mike and Robert Thursday the 9th, and Robert explained how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and he's positive and very confident that the struggling economic times for most will make him very rich, confidence firsthand.
You can see Mike Dillard's confidence in his videos, good posture, good voice reflection, nice strong confident delivery.
Corey Citron, a top earner in Xango an MLM I used to be involved in. Seen him in person at a couple conventions boy this guys on fire, you could actually feel his confidents when you're in the same room with him.
Fank Kerns is a funny fella. Don't personally know him obviously but studied his products and his teaching videos. He's confident in a different way. He’s like your everyday confident. And what I mean by that he really likes to portray himself as an everyday average guy with no bells and whistles and that in itself takes confidence. I’ll leave you with this quote form Robert Kiyosaki on the call the other day, one of the many things that I took home.“It’s real easy to be poor unhappy and unhealthy cus it does not take any commitment to do that” Where’s your Commitment?
