How to Become Non-Recruitable

Read More: Mindset  |  Personal Development

Over the years I have had the opportunity to speak to more than one person who told me they were non-recruitable.  Their reason was because they were doing seminars and I'm sure they are approached on a regular basis...

But why can't we say the same?

I think it has to do with the "grass is greener" mentality.  I know very, very few people who are not open to looking at other opportunities.  I could probably count them on one hand.  The funny thing (or maybe not so funny) is that those few people are very successful in their companies.

So the question becomes:  Are they successful because they are not recruitable?  Or are they not recruitable because they are successful?

Hmm...

Well, I have come to realize that there is a lot to be said about focus.  And there is a lot to be said about passion.  If you know what you are looking for in a company and you do your due diligence when you are looking for it, then when you find it, why would you keep looking?

I was inspired to write this article because this is exactly what has happened to me.

I realized in the last month or so, that I have finally come to the place where I am non-recruitable.  I am not looking for another opportunity.  I am not working another opportunity.  And I am not open to working another opportunity.  I am completely satisfied with the company I am with.

Maybe it's like this for everyone.  But I don't think so.  It took me 4 years to find a place where I felt this way.  Well, more like 24 years if you count all the dabbling I did before I really understood Relationship Marketing.

If you do not feel completely satisfied with your company, ask yourself why that is.  Is there something you can do about it?  Do you trust the leadership?  Do you know without a doubt that they are not lining their pockets?  Does your company have a mission you can really get behind and be passionate about?  Are you crazy about the products or service that your company offers?

You cannot say you are dis-satisfied if your lack of satisfaction is your own fault.  If you are not being coachable.  If you are not working hard and smart.  That isn't being fair to your company.

BUT, if you ARE following the system of your company, being coachable, working hard AND smart, passionate about what you do and who you are with and you are not making what you should be making or you have nagging doubts about the leadership in your company, then maybe it's time to do some research and ask some of the experts in this community.  Ask what you should look for in a good company.  Ask what makes a good compensation plan.  Ask at least 5 people and more is better so you get a good well-rounded answer.

Excellent Topic

Your title caught my attention and your article backed up why.

This is very important.  People are often so open to every exciting offer that comes their way that they never learn how to create their own irresistable offer that affords them the REAL opportunity to build a successful business.

With that said, I'd mention that it can sometimes go the other way.  I stuck with a particular company and business that was very disempowering.  So here's what I suggest.  When you decide on doing something, focus on it for a while.  If things are not clicking after a certain amount of time become open to new opportunities (you set that amount of time beforehand at 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, whatever you decide, just make sure it's long enough to make a good assesment).

But here is the key to this:  When you become open to new opportunities, you seek out what you are looking for.  Get clear on WHAT you're looking for based on your past experiences.  Figure out what went wrong and make sure your next step in business doesn't blindly lead you to the same mistakes.

Great article!  Thumbs up!

Hi Karilee, Learning to be a

Hi Karilee,

Learning to be a better networker is tough. It is the only way to succeed rather than hopping to another "greener pastures" MLM company or taking a rest in the business.

When I am down, I tend to think of all sort of reasons which are basically a well planned excuses or liars. Thank God, I always come to the conclusion that money is not my sole reason for doing my business. They are other intangible reasons that are important to me and that keep me going.

Two elements you mentioned are dead important - focus and passion. That is what makes me non-recruitable.

Hi Karilee!

It is so good that you are happy where you are.  Many are not and are wandering and wondering!  Great for you and keep your head up in building you!

The fear of "Greener Pastures"

A great idea for an article, and one that I'm sure everyone has dealt with in their past.

I'm wondering if there is any comment on the opposite problem to this; that of staying with a group or company for years simply because you are loyal and believe that success may be just around the next corner. This can be a huge problem (especially since it is also this behavior that creates success in the right situation)

I think that is starting to sound like another article entirely.

Best to you and yours

I am not a Prospect is always a Good Way to set the Tone

I just learned this great line from my Mentor.  Who is recruited Daily.  Just Let them know up front you are not a Prospect.   However in order to maintain a Relationship with this person.  Ask them what you can do for them.  Offer them something of Value that is Free.  Make them your Warm Market.  You never know if down the line they will be joining you.

Going the Other Way

I agree about the danger of going the other way ~ in fact I have articles about that, and my testimony on my page is also about that... don't follow blindly!

Non-Recruitalble Newbee

As a newbee in the online networking industry, I had decided, after getting involved with"Magnetic Sponsoring", to not even consider another company until I am able to contribute some expertise to this industry. Why change anyway unless you have a valid reason to be terribly let down by your present company. Don't forget the grass always looks greener, but when you get there it's usually the same color. Good comments. Keep it up.
