How To Enroll Network Marketers Into Your Network Marketing Business
The majority are wondering how to enroll network marketers and what to say to them over the phone. Here are some tips and role playing ideas to try.
I really do enjoy deploying and reading the results of our surveys. Although I wish my entire list would participate.
We had the majority respond this time, which was very cool and will be more beneficial to those who come and read.
Among many questions I asked I found the results of “What is your biggest struggles in working your home based business?” the most interesting.
Overall people really want to know how to generate network marketing leads. No matter how many posts I provide about the “how to” generate network marketing leads - it seems to still be a problem for folks.
Click here for more about generating leads, but for now let me talk about the above results.
The above survey question was a multiple choice. This means they can choose more than one answer (all or just one) that pertains.
The majority are wondering how to enroll network marketers and what to say to them over the phone.
Jim Yaghi posted a brief article that included some tips about that you can find by clicking here. I’ll go ahead and expand on that.
When you build a subscriber list of network marketers you really should be delicate with them.
Rule of Thumb:
Most network marketers would love to enroll YOU into their business. Let’s face it, that’s one half of this business.
Their business is the best in the whole world - even though the majority aren’t making money, and even if they are making money, it’s less than what they are paying out to keep it active.
You wouldn’t think that would be the best in the world.
Network marketers tend to hold on to their business for dear life even though they aren’t making a dime back on their ROI (return on investment).
Why?
1) They’ve come too far to let go now (even though it’s only been less than six months).
2) Nobody likes feeling like they have failed (although in reality they haven’t yet).
3) It’s not the companies fault and if they hold on long enough, they’ll figure this out.
4) They don’t want to start over again.
5) They’ve made friends and don’t want to leave them.
It could be for many other reasons than I’ve listed above, but that will give you an idea.
Here is the truth:
You can make it in any MLM or network marketing business. If you develop the education and tap into appropriate resources, you can make it to the top.
1) As long as you have the staying power!
2) As long as you have some money to spend.
3) You are willing to get the appropriate education and then “apply” it!
Yet I see so many struggle and have no idea when to cut their losses.
I’m speaking of those who don’t yet understand how to get to the top. They believe it’s possible, but don’t yet understand the importance of when to QUIT and revamp their goals before they lose their savings account.
Most of your upline sponsors aren’t responsible enough to guide you out of the business or toward education (other than the company training or old school sales tactics) to save your bank.
As long as you keep paying your monthly autoship, that’s all that matters to most uplines.
I’m not saying ALL upline sponsors are like this. In fact I’ve met a good hand-full that tell their downline NOT to purchase autoship until they are in profit mode.
I know some that have convinced downlines to quit the business while they are still ahead.
Be a good upline and sponsor when you take on network marketers from other businesses.
1) Don’t enroll them with the notion they’ll know everything. The most they will understand is you have to pay to get in and that MLM can be legit.
2) Don’t assume they will hit the ground running and your business is going to explode. You still need to be a mentor and coach in most cases.
3) The network marketers you enroll may have only been in six months or less and still need some serious education and guidance.
Now that you have some basic insight, let’s get back to how to enroll network marketers into your business.
The biggest issue you are going to face is showing network marketers the value of working with you - that it is going to be better for them and their pocket book.
It’s not about their MLM or your MLM - it is going to be about what value you are offering them “if” they decide to work with you.
Remember - they are holding on to their current business for dear life! So have a little respect when talking to them.
I can’t stress this enough - QUIT SELLING TO THEM!
Help them solve their problems - it’s as simple as that.
How To Enroll Network Marketers Into Your Network Marketing Business?
1) Pick up the phone and introduce yourself.
2) Find out what their biggest struggles are.
3) Provide the solution and remind them working with you will be beneficial for both of you.
***ROLE PLAY***
Hi [prospects first name], this is [your first name] from [whatever site they opted in].
I only have a few minutes here, but I wanted to call and introduce myself and see what you thought about my [ebook, website or recorded call].
Let them talk here for a few minutes and “listen.”
Now did you find this information to make sense to you?
Did it solve any problems you are now having in your current business?
**END - ROLE PLAY**
I’m going to assume here that whatever you offer free is of value and is solving some network marketers problems. If not, you need to go back and write or record something new that does.
Otherwise, don’t bother calling them or even publishing your content.
Remember - this is a process and NOT a hard close, one time phone call.
Remember - don’t go after them by selling or trying to convince. Chances are they’ve seen the same script and will shut down if you try this.
JUST BE YOU! Relax and have a colleague to colleague discussion and show some respect.
Here’s an idea for the later or closing part of your conversation.
After you have had your discussion, you may want to offer sending them a personal email with additional help to their problems.
You want to remind them you work full time with your own team and that you don’t have a lot of time to coach or counsel them one on one. Yet you’ll put something together for them and be sure to include testimonials from your team.
Be sure to keep in touch with those who you connected with on your list. This should be by personal emails or occasional phone calls to check up on them.
For those who you didn’t connect with over the phone, just keep them in your email campaign. They may come around and may not. Focus on those you have developed a connection with and who are receptive to you.
Whatever you do, always treat them with respect and don’t pull old school MLM sales tactics with them. If you do, they may not only hang up on you - but drop off your list as well.
This is about helping them out of the current struggle they are in.
If you don’t have a solution, it’s time you focus on educating yourself first so that you will have something to offer them later.
To better network marketing!
