How to Get a Response from Your Prospects Through Email Marketing

You have a free newsletter, but you want to be able to have a two way conversation with your prospects. Since you only ask for a name and email on the opt in form, then the only way to communicate is through e-mail marketing unless they call you. A great way to find out what people on your list are thinking or would like to know more about is through asking them questions in a survey.

Taking a survey seems a little like high school, but people will respond when you ask them what their struggles are in building their business (or working) or a topic they would like for you to address. You can set it up as open ended questions or set it with multiple choice answers. Survey Monkey is a great service to send surveys to your list. If you use iContact for your auto-responder, then a survey feature is already built into the service. You can respond to their answers by addressing them in your daily e-mails.

This technique would also be great in asking  your organization what they would like you to address or finding out how they are doing in their building their business.  You could do a webinar addressing their questions also.

Taking a survey is a great way to communicate with your prospects and future business partners through email marketing. It builds more trust between you and them and both parties feel the benefits of a two way conversation.
