How To Set Your Lead Generation Budget, And Why You'll Never Need To Budget In The Future

Have you ever budgeted your lead generation program? Don't worry if you haven't because it would be a bit of a surprise if you actually did. Most network marketers don't budget.

What this article is about to explain may surprise you. But, I found it really is the best way for any MLM business owner to approach the whole subject of how much to budget for lead generation marketing.

Create an interim lead generation budget. It's called an interim lead generation budget because you'll only use it for a few months.

The most effective and logical way to look at your marketing budget is to check out your bank statement, cash flow, and balance sheet. Then, depending on how much money you have, set an amount you can comfortably afford.

That's all there is to it.

Don't over commit yourself. You don't have to because there are so many powerful and successful low-cost and no-cost tools you can use.

Make no mistake; you will have to invest something in your marketing if you want to grow your business. But, randomly setting an amount like $6,000 for the year is hardly the way to go. Too many network marketers blow that money buyinig leads or distributing crappy company produced marketing collateral. Then when they don't get a bunch of new reps, they have to decide if they want to spend that kind of money again.

To get going with your MLM business marketing, you really only need to set a budget you can comfortably afford for a few short months. Forget the whole year, just set your budget for a few months.

So why does this approach to setting your marketing budget make so much sense? Here's why...

Once you know what works and what doesn't, stop doing what doesn't work and keep doing what does work. And, once you know how much money you'll make from each marketing tool, you can simply activate those tools repeatedly. Or at least activate them until they stop making money and then just deactivate the tools that don't work. It really is that simple.

Now in order to make this approach work, it does suggests that you absolutely must be measuring and monitoring the results of your marketing.

The reason that most marketing efforts fail has nothing to do with how much money you invest in your marketing. Most network marketers just never even bother to track their marketing. They really don't have any idea what's working and what's not working.

You need a way to track your data so that you know that when you do A, B, or C that you'll generate X new leads resulting in Y new reps (or customers) and Z in profits.

One reason network marketers spend way more than they make is that they're jumping around from one marketing idea to the next. That's why you need to record and keep track of your results.

Set an interim lead generation budget and commit to tracking your results. The approaches that work fund your future efforts so you'll never have to budget again.
