How to Start Building a List without a Capture Page
Read More: Ok guys, this is for the lazy and the broke. (Smile) Seriously. I know how scary it can be if you are technically challenged to make your own capture page when you first get started in marketing your product or business. Some people don't have money to get everything started initially, so an easy no frills way to capture a prospect's information and build a relationship with them would be good. Of course, you can add an auto responder to your blog, but I wanted to show you one way to do it without a thing.
You still need an auto responder. I use Aweber.They have great instructional videos and the staff is helpful if you are lost! Set up your List Name Campaign (whatever you want to name your list). Instead of a capture page URL for more information, have your readers send a blank email to yourlistname@aweber.com. They will immediately be sent a confirmation where they will be redirected to your website (or whatever you choose). Now, they are on your list and you can market to these people forever any product and or service unless they opt out! Whenever you do finally get your capture page set up, you can link "yourlistname" to whatever capture page you choose!
This direct method works best if you are using video marketing or article writing. People will opt in, if you gave them value or a reason for them to inquire about more information.

Great info but where did you get the readers?
Billy, I agree that what you are saying here is a great idea but you left out one thing.
Where did you get the first readers if you are just starting to build your list?

That would be like telling someone how to earn interest on their money to make more money but never telling them how to get started with getting the money to invest in the first place.
I think people need to provide good content on the Internet first. Such as using many of the free platforms such as Squidoo, Hubs, Digg, YouTube, Facebook, Blogs, and so forth. If their content is good and they provide a lot of it, they will have people joining their list monthly, weekly, and daily.
Then I can see your point about building your list even bigger from that point, with or without a landing page.
