How To Use Meetup.com To Magnetically Attract Local Prospects

Are you looking for an inexpensive way to magnetically attract that “Goldmine” of local network marketers that are in your own backyard? I know that I was!

Google adwords are great for attracting national and even international leads, but I was looking for a way to generate dozens of local network marketing leads that I could meet with locally to build a personal relationship, and to hopefully sponsor into my opportunity.

I have been able to do this and so much more through a site called Meetup.com. Meetup.com is an online social networking site that according to Time Magazine, offers “A convenient, non-threatening way to connect to other people who share similar interests and live nearby.”

Whatever your interests, from knitting to stamp collecting, there are probably hundreds of local residents ready to connect with you offline to discuss your similar interests.

Now, I became a member of Meetup.com a little over a year ago when I started a local eBay Sellers Meetup Group. So when I was introduced to the concepts of Magnetic Sponsoring a few months ago, I decided to start a local network marketing meetup group to connect with other local MLMers.

Membership to Meetup.com is free, however, there is a fee if you decide to organize a group. This fee allows you to organize up to three meetup groups, and by taking the lead and starting a local group, you will be positioning yourself as a leader and an “Alpha Networker”. Also, Meetup.com will send out an email to a waiting list of possibly hundreds of people in your local area letting them know that a new group is forming.

My first Network Marketing Meetup event was a few months ago and we had so many people attend that we had to bring in extra chairs and book a larger venue for the next event!  I have since started three more Network Marketing Meetups in my area and they are all going extremely well. I have also sponsored some great local network marketing leaders and customers as a result of having the meetup events.

Members of our group meet once a month and everyone is give a few minutes to present their company’s products, services and business opportunity to the group. Then we exchange business cards and information with each other and refer leads. Since one of the services that my network marketing company offers is the ability to do a LIVE webcast, I broadcast the entire event online and have it automatically archived for future playback. People from all over the world tune in to watch us, and it really gets the crowd excited.

So, if you’re looking for a way to Magnetically Attract your target market (other network marketers) locally, go to Meetup.com, type in “Network Marketing” and your zip code in the search field, and start a local meetup group. There are probably hundreds of network marketers in your local area waiting to connect with you and possibly join your team or become a customer. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call or send an email. Happy Networking!

Great Resource

Timothy,

Great post. I use Meet-UP also and find it a really great resource. I'm a member of about 3 meet ups, only one being network marketing. The other two are not connected but an excellent source for leads.

Thank you for posting this Meetup.com message

I actually found the site myself a few months ago but haven't done anything with it yet mostly because I wasn't too sure what to do with it. I actually just got message tonight about a new Meetup.com group starting in my area next month based on "attraction marketing" techniques. Interesting. I'm definitely going to check out your web casts, thanks for posting them.
