How to Write an Effective Article on EzineArticles.com, Part I

The ability to communicate with others is one of the immutable foundations to become sucessful in business. The manner in which you communicate can give great insight into your business prowess, social skills or even character. Successful article writing is a must for the individual who wants to run a successful online business.

Article writing is one of the biggest keys to successful business marketing. Without doubt, EzineArticles.com is the top site for getting your quality articles ranked by the search engines. Submission is free but has to approved before your articles are published. This approval process may take several days. The wait is well worth it. To date I have over 22,000 page views on my 61 articles. One of my most successful articles has almost 3100 views with a high conversion rate. The article is called Throw Away Your Vitamin B12 Pills Now. This article went live on August 1, 2008.

Here some Important Tips and Guidelines for writing effective and acceptable articles on EzineArticles.com.

  • Use original work. Do not take anyone else's work and pass it off as yours.
  • Good quality content that informs. The reader should feel that he or she has not wasted time reading your content.
  • No promotional information (self, products, services, etc.)  in content of article. All personal websites and promotion can go in the author and resource boxes at the end of the article. It is in these resource boxes that you can push your opportunity, products or services.
  • Tell the truth. Don't lie or even stretch the truth
  • No over the top claims or hype
  • No profanity or lewd content or lewd adult content in article
  • No racial or inflammatory content
  • Only Bold Headings and Subheadings. Do not bold keywords
  • Use correct grammar or your article may not get approved. Use the spell check tool that the site has available. If you are learning the art of good copywriting, ask someone to proof your article. Never use more than one exclamation or question mark in a row. Don't end a sentence with more than 3 periods. For example: We suggest the following........
  • Use an eye catching title. You can use a title that seems on the surface to go against the obvious and current paradigm. Remember my title. Throw Away Your Vitamin B12 Pills Now.
  • Use 3-5 short sentences in each paragraph
  • Give Subheadings to each paragraph
  • Keep your article under 750 words as a general rule
  • Write an attention grabbing introduction or abstract that surfers will read to make a decision on whether or not to read your article.
  • Choose good keywords to tag your article. You can use the free Google Keyword Tool.
  • Do not use all caps in your title and your title must be a minimum of 2 words
  • Your content must be consistent with your title
  • Do not keyword stuff. Write as though you were speaking with someone.
  • Do not article spam. One of the quickest ways to get your article denied is to use the same article with another title or the same article but changing a few "the's and thou's".
