I Hate Your Company... Join Mine!

No really...

Ok, so maybe none of us have heard this statement verbatim… but, wow I have had some "prospects" (I use this term loosely) who might as well have said it!

I am sure you have too.

Just today, I was on a networking site and came in contact with an interesting person that showed a little promise.

So, through email… we exchanged phone numbers and agreed that we would chat later in the day.

My goal was really just get to know this person a little more, just to understand what kind of person that he was, and what he was seeking in business.

So I dialed the phone today, he answered and we exchanged pleasantries.  Sounded like a great guy!

 After the initial hello's I hear…

"I used to be in the company you are in… now I am in company X and it is so much better!"

Keep in mind, Company X is a competitor within the same industry.

 He went on…

"Haven't you seen MLM Watchdog.com or _ _ _ _ _ Scam.com.  I have seen this information come across my desk and I decided to get out while I could…."

 And then…

"So, I am sending you a link that tells why my company is better… I want you to listen to it and let me know what you think!"

What a great prospecting call for him.  Even if I was considering changing companies, I would not join a leader or a company, who's only marketing strategy is tearing down others!

Unfortunately, many people in the MLM world these days use these very strategies.

It would be nice if our fellow marketers would consider how they would grow a company in the outside world.  Actually, this fellow was a doctor… and I just wonder if through the years if he has booked his patients by slamming other physicians in town?

Maybe so, but it is unlikely.

The fact is, you can go to Google and do a search for something like…

Coca Cola is a Scam .com  probably written by a Pepsi guy.

 Or

Mcdonalds Monopoly is a scam .com probably written by a Burger King guy.

 Or

Fox News is a scam .com probably written by Keith Olberman.   : )  B

But you get my point.  No matter what business you are in, or what company that you are involved in… if it has been around long enough you can find something negative about it.

We can choose to jump from company to company and get bogged down in the negativity, or we can continue on despite the challenges and provide solid footing for our downlines.

The sad part is, it is techniques like this that give the MLM World a bad name from time to time.

Remember… you can catch more MLM Flies with Honey!   : )
