"I Have More Than 200 Points, Why Am I Still At Guru Level 1"?

Read More: Marketing  |  Social Networking

(I had to say something about this because we all have a sensitivity to the subject of branding.  I was particpiating in a forum yesterday where the subject came up.  So, I figured it would be a good idea to go ahead and write an article about it).

I know you all have been too busy adding value to concern yourself with petty stuff like this. But, I found out something through trial and error that I'd like to share with all "Level 1" Up & Comers and Pre-Alphas.

A lot of you have waaay more points than I do, but, when I go to your profile page, I see that you have a "gray square" with a number "1" blazed in the center. Supposedly you are "Average Frustrated Networkers".

I know that's not true. I appreciate the value you've given to the community and I think you should get fair recognition for it. So, allow me to share some value with you - How to make that gray box dissappear.

Besides, blue and green is such a prettier color anyway! ...at least in my opinion.

So, this is what I found out. Inviting 3 friends will get those colors changed in a jiffy. But, there's a certain way it must be done.

After signing in, take a look at the blue strip on the top portion of the page - where you see the words "Home", "Articles", "Videos", etc. Click where it says "Rewards". When the next page comes up, look at the last sentence. You should notice the hyperlinked words, "invite a friend".

Click on those words. When the next page comes up, enter someone's email address (your friend's) in the box marked "To". In the "Message" box you can put a little message. And then click the "Invite" button.

BAM! there you go :D

Now, do it 2 more times with different email addresses. I'm saying that because that's exactly how I did it. You can try to put all 3 email addresses in the "To" box on the first try. It's just that that's not the way I did it. It may work though. My goal here is just to share exactly what worked for me.

Now, after you take those steps, take a look at your profile page. It should look even more beautiful now.

Since you've racked up all those points, I'm pretty sure that's all you need to do. If that doesn't work, perhaps one of these points is the issue:
* Put up a profile picture
* Fill out about me section

Well, that's all I have to say for now.

Rock On!

-Roy

Thanks again!

I thanked you over in the forums, but wanted to say thanks again. I was wondering how to get that changed. Oh and I put all the emails in at once and it worked just fine.

Take Care,

Renee

Changing my Guru level

Hi Roy:

Thanks for the information.  I thought that the three people that you invited had to join before you got to Level 2.  I appreciate knowing that you just have to invite them.

I now have to decide who are the lucky three people I am going to invite!!

I Was At A 2 For Weeks, How Did I Go Back To a 1

Wow, I was at a 2 for weeks now and just today, I realized it was changed back to a 1.  How did that happen?

Cynthia Acoff — Sun, 02/08/2009 - 2:33am

You got me on that one...

I went to check your profile just to see what I could find out and LO AND BEHOLD, you're back at 2.

By the way, I appreciate your article, "I Screwed Up". The point where you mentioned the importance of partnering with the right people was right on! Time is a valuable resource and must be invested well. Who we invest our time in must show them self to be worth the investment.

Glad to help

And you're right Jan. Anyone invited to this community and the Magnetic Sponsoring System IS lucky. And might I also add blessed, privileged, about to get paid, etc.

Great Info.

This is good to know Roy. There are many people out there who are way beyond the Guru level 2 qualifications and are still stuck at that gray and dull looking level 1. Thanks for sharing your tip.

Best wishes to you,

I think I love it!

Goodness, you do provide value.  I always tell my friends don't sweat the small stuff.  If you provide the value, then the recognition will come.  But thanks for teaching us how to deal with the small stuff without sweat!
