I Know Your Favorite Word!
As you go through life, you encounter more and more people. And the one thing you could do to make each one of them feel good is to remember their names.
A person’s name is the best sound in the world to him. Simply remembering people’s names is a subtle yet effective compliment. Misspell it, or forget it altogether, and you have seriously damaged his opinion of you.
How Andrew Carnegie Used People’s Names To Succeed
One of the richest men in American history, Andrew Carnegie, knew the importance of using people’s names. He became so successful because he remembered and used the names of his workers and clients, as well as his prospects.
His workers appreciated him for that, and worked harder for him just because he was so personable to and interested in each one of them.
He knew and often used his competitors’ and prospective clients’ names in his business ventures, even sometimes going so far as to name his projects after them. As a result, they obligated themselves to him, and he profited most handsomely!
Putting A Price Tag On Corporate Names
Many buildings on college campuses are named after people who are special to the university. I’ve even heard of some wealthy individuals who donate large sums of money to a college just so he could have the new building named after himself. Also, many corporations now are buying public event arenas, and changing their names to The [company name] Center, or [company name] Park.
There is magic in the use of people’s names. And people always make extra special efforts when you remember and use their names!
