!!! I QUIT !!!
I quit! Have you ever said or done it. I have many of times unfortunately. Today was one of those days when the storms raged against me and somehow I made it through (I'm still breathing). It's times like these that I ask my self the unanswerable question WHY? Then after a few moments of being in a pity party I pull myself up by my shorts, stick out my chest, flare my nostrils in determination, and move forward. It's not really a matter of quitting, it's just a road block that I get to overcome. Hey, everything happens for a purpose, even though that purpose may not be clear at the time.
I share this with you in hopes to give you strength and to let you realize that EVERYONE struggles and wants to quit at some time. If you don't ever feel this way than you are either not of this world or you are doing drugs (a lot of drugs). Wanting to quit is not failure, quitting is a failure. Sometimes it helps to step back and cool off for a moment, regain some strength, and then press forward. I have a tendency to get fired up real quick and just jump into a project going full boar. After a while I get bored and look for the next "shiny" and exciting thing and jump into that. This has caused much grief and "I quit" feelings throughout my life because I was not getting results. In a way I was a quitter because I did not finish what I had started. I did not like to hear that (and so I quit). Somewhere along the line I figured this out and began to use it as a strength and to surround myself by others to assist me in goals. It's not always easy, but thank goodness for those friends who tell me the truth and not what I want to hear. These are people like Daniela Riess, Juanita Waterman, Michael Dlouhy, and many others.
I have found that being grateful and "counting my blessings" helps me to get out of my funk (again, not always easy). I have also found that being plugged in to a routine and system helps me to stay on track. As a former high school baseball coach I understand the value of having a simple executable system to get results. If you're not getting results, it very well may be the system you're plugged into, and not you.
So instead of saying I quit; take a quick breather, make a plan, do something different, check your progress along the way, and make adjustments. I live by a motto that says to make your goals in stone and your plans in sand. I don't profess to know everything, my downline knows this and so does my upline. I take pride in my battle wounds, for they have taught me the most. We are all human here so you don't need to fake it.

Its OK to Quit....
As long as you get right back in and move forward. Brandan, it is nice to know that we are not alone when it comes to having "one of those days" But, yes, its about sucking it up and pulling up our bootstraps and living to fight another day. And it sure makes it alot easier when you have such great leaders as you mention above.

Keep moving forward Brendan!

Forward
Like you say we all get to feeling like things are going too slow from time to time. We all want things to happen over nite. But is not life we get bore thinking the work we are doing is for nothing and get down and question what we are doing. In reality I belive a day above ground doing what I want to do is better than a day above ground doing what someone tells me I have to do. So I will keep doing what I like to do to make a better me. Keep the good work coming and we will be where we want to be very soon.

The grass isn't greener
I used to think the grass MUST be greener on the other side of the fence. That scraggly brown stuff I was in really sucked. I hopped a lot of fences.
It took awhile to figure out that I could turn any grass to scraggly brown. So instead of constantly looking for greener grass, I finally focused on how to grow my own. That works way better.

I Quit
I quit every day, but I always start up again. When I quit quitting, that means that I never started up again and that is when I'm in trouble. I was told by a top producing woman at a training that "she welcomes these roadblocks or walls so to speak" because with every downturn there is an equal or greater upturn or opportunity just around the corner, and it's up to her to find a way to get it.
Just Do It.

I quit
When things seem at their worst, or when I don't seem to be making progress, thoughts of quitting have crossed my mind. But then I remind myself to push through, look at things from different perspectives and keep moving forward. It is usually during these transitions where I seem to experience the most growth and success. Great Article

I know the feeling
For years I've faced many obstacles. I wonder at times if I will ever finally get on my feet. But I get back up and try again. One of the most important part of my daily routine is spending time early in the morning hearing worship music, seeking the scriptures and praying for direction. I hope this may not offend anyone.
There is a story in the bible about a man by the name of Saul. Saul was the first King of Israel. When Saul was tormented in the mind, the servants of Saul went to find a skillful musician. So they went and got David. And when David played the harp, the things that were tormenting Saul had dissipated.
Have you noticed how many things enter our mind daily. It's like spam. If you ever face a situation like you face today again and nothing seems to work, try some music of your choice and let it sooth your mind until you can think clearly. It works wonders. As a matter of fact, some medical institutions use music as therapy. It is a tremendous stress reliever.
It's a thought.

Hi Brendan, This is a very
Hi Brendan,
This is a very good article. I think most of us can really identify with what you are talking about here. I have found myself going through the "I quit" experiences many times. But 10 minutes later I'm right back at it again.
I'm able to overcome those moments because I see the value in what I am doing and have a very powerful desire to succeed. It's that desire that helps me through those difficult times.
I'm certain that almost all the active participants in BetterNetworker have that same passion. Brendan, I wish you the best in all you are doing!
