I'm an Idiot

Thanks for the comments on my last article.  I really appreciated the response.  It goes to show you that you don't have to be a good writer, you just have to be fired up when you write.  If you are ever feeling passionate about a certain topic you're thinking about, start writing while you're still on fire!

But this article is gonna be a little more lighthearted. 

Since I like to have fun and I want to show you that I'm not just a motivational speaker -- I'm also an idiot.

About 3 months ago, I switched my autoresponder from aweber to icontact and I had been generating quite a few leads from PPC, SEO, Article Marketing, etc.  When someone subscribes to my newsletter they can also ask a "burning question".  And I spend a lot of time answering them, because I want to let my subscribers know that there is someone on the other side looking out for them.

I have a queue of about 32 messages with great content for anyone that comes in.

Well it turns out that I had never activated my autoresponder so none of my leads ever got my "bootcamp course" or follow up emails.  That's a huge loss of potential sales.

Fortunately for me, I guess my sales letter was good enough so that I was able to create a lot of sales at opt-in and I was still very profitable.

But, the moral of the story, make sure your leads are getting your autoresponder emails, because it could be the difference between working for the boss and absolute freedom... literally!

To help you, here are the top 10 signs that something is wrong:

1. You're not getting any unsubscribes. "If you haven't offended someone by noon everyday, you're not marketing hard enough" -Dan Kennedy
2. No one is calling you, when you know you've put your number in every single email and webpage.
3. The stats on your icontact autoresponder read "ZERO".
4. No one is buying what you're marketing, except on the day they subscribe.
5. The hits on your sales letter matches the number of subscribes.
6. You aren't getting hate email from "Average Frustrated Networkers".
7. Your girlfriend who got on your newsletter to "support" you, hasn't commented or given you advice on how to market.
8. Your affiliates start complaining because they say their leads aren't getting your "daily pieces of wisdom", even though you see their names on the list and insist that it's a problem with their spam filter.
9. You get this sinking filling in your stomach, which says "there's something you're forgetting".
10. And finally, the top sign which screams at you to "check your autoresponder"......  <<< fill in the blank>>>
