Good article. One of my blogs generates a couple hundred unique visitors each week from Google, Yahoo and other search engines alone. It gets thousands of new visitors per week, a lot of this by implementing the same social networking strategies you're going over here.
Using social marketing strategies and linking correctly is key to getting the results. Of course, you also need to fill your blog up with content that 'talks' to your target audience so the search engines are friendly and so you can hold the attention of the visitors long enough to capture them as a lead through a contact form or capture page.
We've spent some time teaching how to write for those who thought they couldn't. With some guidance I've found anyone who can construct sentences can write effectively to attract their target audience (best leads).
And there's no question it's duplicatable -- I've seen hundreds of poeple who were new to the computer learn how to create their first blog and generate traffic using these same techniques, who all started this year for the first time.

Since I am recently new to social networking this article is excellent; but I still have alot to learn how to implement strategies to generate traffic. But I really appreciate this article. I had a chance look at Squidoo.com before, but I am still on the learning curve. But I still need to comprehend all the levels you've mentioned. But as I get involve, I can see that I can learn a great deal from being part of this network.

I have been following all those six steps for almost a year now. Like Mike, I receive a few hundred unique hits to each of my blogs every week. I have a few different blogs, so you do the math. It's a lot of people. I agree that getting them to then convert to leads or relationship is another step and that step is all about creating valuable content. People want to read things that they can use, that inspire them, that offer instructions or motivation. Be fun, be creative, offer real information and watch you circle expand!
