Is it Sales & Marketing Skills or Education & Teamwork that Makes a Network Marketing Guru?

If you listen to Mike Dillard of Magnetic Sponsoring, he'll tell you you can't sell and people like to buy but don't like to be sold. If you listen to Michael Dlouhy of mentoring for free, he'll tell you that the network marketing business is not a sales business but a teaching and mentoring business. 

Which one is correct and why? Or Do they Both have valid points and once again, Why?

If you've ever read Loral Langemeier of liveoutloud.com, she says that there's no such thing as a self-made millionaire because we all need Teams to help us reach that level of success as a millionaire and beyond. No one can do it all by themselves. So score one for Mr. Dlouhy. However, I can't help but see Mike Dillard's point that the majority of us are not salespeople - myself included. I never made my living by selling anything - homes, cars, shoes, clothes, electronics, etc.; well, except myself to actually get the job. To be honest, I made it a point to shy away from a sales career out of fear. But when I read Robert Kiyosaki's, You Can Choose to Be Rich, program, he said that  in order for one to become a millionaire- which is exactly what I said I wanted - You had to learn sales and marketing skills. - Darn - there it is again! 

So who is right? Who is Wrong? Does right or wrong really apply here?

Most of the ads you see in mlm magazines will usually say they're looking for someone who is "coachable and trainable". This sounds like the education factor just like Dlouhy mentions but in order for any business to remain in business sales have to be made and a marketing plan has to be in place. It looks like both components are in there. I'm sure both gentlemen could argue their side has more merit, but I think this is where you have to make up your own mind and put each piece  where it will work best for your individual situation and/or team.
