Is Your Marketing Strategy: Throw $#!+ And see What Sticks?

When you make the decision to stop chasing people in your business all sorts of creative ideas on how to attract people to you. Once you figure that out then you start to get picky…

While I was honing my telephone prospecting skills I was asked by a friend named Andrea, a side line distributor, to interview her as I would a prospect.

At the end of the interview I told Andrea that would never have recruited her based on the answers she shared with me.

You see after 9 years in the game I would be lying if I told you I couldn’t spot potential in a prospect from our first few in conversation. I know how to identify the mindset of a person who has what  it will take to be successful in this business…. in business and life in general.

The space where Andrea was in her mind was not a space that encouraged the entrepreneurial spirit. It all stared when she said, "You just got to throw shit against the wall and see what sticks!"

That mind mind set was the under lying principle behind all of her actions concerning the business of her life. Very unfocused, random and disparate…. much like her recruiting, prospecting and marketing.

Does Your Marketing Strategy Look Like That Too?

If that is your motto when it comes to prospecting, marketing, presenting and selling your business or it’s products your are working way harder that your really need to and earning far less than you could be.

You more than likely are wasting more resources of time and money all the while too. The saddest part is she was convinced that she was hard at work doing all the right things by taking A.O.M.A.

This was an acronym preached from the stage of a very prominent and wealthy distributor which stood for All Out Massive Action which was sadly interpreted to mean doing this that were a C.W.F.T. An acronym I came up with after I educated my self on lead generation and customer psychology. (With stands for Complete Waste of F**king time).

Why A Sticky Marketing Strategy Is Worth Knowing

If you want you marketing strategy to succeed with out burnout, bankruptcy or embarrassment then you’ve got to have a target market and do some target practice.

Spending time doing randomized prospecting, spare/free time recruiting and anytime/all the time selling and telling pony shows leads to haphazard results and burnout.

I know because I did it for so long convinced I was following the best advice blindly out of respect form my uplines, the vision of the co-founders and plain ignorance of all things marketing and sales related.

How To Discover a Marketing Strategy That Makes People "Stick"

This month I’ll be celebrating 8 fulfilling years as the bride of my husband. I can definitely say that what I’ve learn about marketing gets testing and refined by applying it to my most important relationships in my life.

Since my marriage takes top priority it’s also my most successful relationship. The only thing that gets thrown against the wall about what makes it "stick together" are the pillows… and even that takes a heck of  a strategy ;-)

It wasn’t until I dedicated myself as a student of customer psychology and attraction marketing that it became clear: If I could just figure out the formula of WHY what sticks gets stuck then I could just focus all my time targeting whats most likely to stick.
