Is your subconcious mind ripping you off?

My original title of this article was "Why your subconcious mind will not do what you tell it to." Who's going to click on that. I'll tell you. 1 person read it while articles after mine had 7. So, after a little revamping... here we go. This is my first article and I am actively seeking constructive criticism :)

What's the real secret to attaining the goals that we set out to conquer? Why do some persons easily attain that which they set out to get while others, some apparently even more deserving, do what it takes without achieving their goals?

To give an obvious example let us look at the television show The Office. Why did Ryan the temp.,who had never even made a sale for Dunder Mifflin get the promotion over Michael Scott who had 15 years at the company, mostly as a manager? An example of fiction, I know. Yet how many times in your life have you witnessed this happening? How many times in your life has this happened to you?

What is it that these people do that makes them a success in achieving their goals?

Is it really an unlimited amount of Positive Mental Statements? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Please do not misunderstand me here. The practice of Positive Affirmations is crucial for the betterment of the human body. My personal favorite is " Every day and in every way I get better and better and better:)"

Is the secret plastering up all kinds of positive keywords and "You Can..." Or "I Will..." statements on post-it notes throughout your home, office and even in your car? NOPE, NOT IT EITHER! However true the statement "whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, either way your right", how right would Donald Trump be if he thought he had a chance at winning the Miss America pageant?

Have you ever said to yourself "Self, From now on I will do (this) or I will do (that)... then, maybe then, that will help me get there." Please add any ideas you've told yourself over the years to the (this) and the (that) areas. HATE TO BURST ANY BUBBLES YET THAT IS NOT IT EITHER!

These 3 ways have been used the world over and there are an unlimited amount more. Any motivational speaker, friend and guru will tell you that, as I'm sure that you already know. Yes these are all VERY,VERY IMPORTANT, as we all know. However, these by and of themselves do not get to the heart of the matter, which is (insert drum roll here):

We do what we do and we act the way that we act because of the 'blueprinting' (for lack of a better term) that we received during the foundation years as a child. Those foundation years ended when we reached approximately 2 years of age.

Imagine 2 years of 24 hours a day input from everyone we encountered has molded us into who we are today. Some may say "Hold on one minute here Tim, that I received molding may be true, but not for 24 hours a day. Heck, as a child I spent most of my time asleep!" And that my friends is the exact point. While we, as infants slept, our subconscious did not. In fact it never does.

Nobody today is perfect and there are no instructions that come with children. Which is why there is such a great need for positive mental statements, post-it notes covering the walls and commands to ourselves to get better, to succeed, to quit this or to stop that.

Imagine this; 24 hours a day multiplied by just 2 years. That's a whopping 17,520 hours. Broken down further it's 1,051,200 minutes, and still a little further, it's a mind blowing 63 million 72 thousand seconds worth of training that set forth who we became and the way that we act or react to certain situations.

How long does it take for a person to repeat a positive statement to themselves? What, about 5 seconds? Huge difference there! In fact, a person would need to tell themselves 12 million 614 thousand 4 hundred positive statements just to break even with the amount of input received at such a young age. And here's the kicker, NOT ONE OF THOSE STATEMENTS WILL    E  V  E  R   BE RECEIVED ON THE SUBCONSCIOUS LEVEL.  EVER.

Sounds like a crazy statement. It is. And it is true. Here's why. the conscience mind  is full of thoughts and words which are not allowed into the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind however has full reign of the conscious mind. It is who we are. It controls how we act and what we do. And remember, our subconscious mind was forming as infants, before we could even crawl or speak and finished it's forming before we could even ride a bike much less understand what self-improvement even was!

O.K. enough with the preamble. Here is the insider's secret to tapping into the power of your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind does not respond to words. it does not respond to commands, begging or pleading. What it responds to are mental images and emotions.

Yes, Pictures held in the mind along with true and I repeat, true feelings receive First Class treatment in our brains and are ushered right on into control central and immediately our subconscious mind absorbs them into the blueprint of our person and works by issuing new commands into our conscience minds. We have no control over that, it just happens.

So, the next time you tell yourself a goal, repeat a Positive mental statement or slap a sticky on the wall, do this: STOP, SIT DOWN, IMAGINE WHAT IT WILL FEEL LIKE TO HAVE THE GOAL REACHED (THIS IS THE ONLY OTHER WAY TO INFLUENCE THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND ...EMOTION...)

FEEL JUST HOW GREAT YOU ARE AND HOW AWESOME IT FEELS TO HAVE REACHED YOUR GOAL AND THEN MULTIPLY THAT FEELING. FEEL IT ALREADY DONE AND 'IN THE NOW'.

CLOSE YOUR EYES AND COUPLE THAT FEELING WITH A VIVID PICTURE OF YOURSELF WITH THE GOAL ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED OR THE POSITIVE AFFIRMATION ALREADY ACCEPTED AND BEING USED BY YOU. SEE THE CLOTHES YOUR WEARING, NOTICE YOUR SURROUNDINGS.

Remember, the  subconscious mind cannot, cannot accept words. Only pictures and feelings, so make the picture as vivid as possible and the feeling as strong as possible. As your conscience mind throws out words, just let them pass. Ignore them. Allow your conscience mind to become one with the silence of the universe.

If you can, every time your wristwatch beeps on the new hour, spend the most expensive currency in the world on yourself, which is your time. Spend less than a minute every hour your awake for the next week on yourself and you just may be amazed with the results. The more this method is used the easier it becomes, with phenomenal results.

You can do this. Whatever you want. You deserve it. You really are worth it. Have fun with it.

Our Journey Into The "Power Of Now"

Tim!!

Welcome To The Wonderful World Of Social Media : )

You Have A Very Bright Future In This Industry!

Awesome first post! You have a very creative and clear style of writing. I'm looking forward to watching you grow and develop in the online community.

I agree with you 100%. Thoughts do not shape our environment. Feelings (subconscious) shape our environment. To tap into your "power" you truly have to leave you analytical mind (ego) behind. You provided an excellent exercise that will greatly assist anyone seeking to connect with their emotions.

I enjoyed this post! Great work Tim!

Great advice

Great article Tim!

I do three things:

1. Set a goal.

2. Visualize my goals as if I have already arrived there.

3. Take action.

Keep writing!
