Isn't it Ironic

Why is it that when you approach people that you care about or people you want to help with a really good business opportunity that could help them in these hard economic times, at first glance, they seem to be all for it.  But when you follow up with them a few days later, it's as if you have contracted a contagious plague.  Yet, if you are a dentist giving free root canals, you would have a line extending around the block.

What makes some people so closed minded that they can't see a good thing when it just about smacks them in the forehead, and other people so daring that they jump into something blindly before they really know anything about it.

What do we do when we are confronted with those types of people, who no matter what you say or do, or educate them on how something can benefit them, they still look at you like a deer in headlights.  My first reaction would be to smack them upside the head and shout, "Whatsa matta wit you, huh?!"  But then again, it clearly demonstrates the reason why those people are where they are.

I grow so tired of people always telling me what they can't do.  Don't tell me what you can't do, tell me what you can.  That is the difference between the Average Joe putting in 50% and those of us who strive to give 200% in everything that we do, no matter how big or small, no matter the cost or reward.

I have realized that I get disappointed with people all the time, but it isn't really their fault.  Could it be that is my blueprint that is wrong?  I expect too much from other people and what I sometimes forget to realize is that the majority of people don't think the way I do.  They don't have the same values that I do.  They don't strive for the same goals that I do.  It's like getting mad at a child for doing something that they don't know is wrong.  It's not their fault.

And so I leave you all with this notion. The next time that you are confronted with this type of situation, don't get mad.  Don't get frusterated.  Just remember that we are all in this together.

Very True

I know how you feel.  Thats how I felt when I first started in network marketing.  I think it has to do with a lot of bad MLM companies, and people getting shafted.  You may have the purest of intentions, but people are just worried about number 1.

My advice is don't worry about them.  There are plenty of people out there, that will value YOU and what you have to offer.

To your success,

Most people...

Steven, good article that brings up a fantastic point. We network marketers have these great businesses that can give back time, freedom, family and financial independance. Who WOULDN'T want that? Then we talk to our neighbor or co-worker or friend who is slaving away for an ungrateful boss, working for low pay in an over-crowded office. Who would want to be in that situation? Not us, that's why many of us left our J.O.B. to work for ourselves!

You tell them all about your great opportunity, how empowering it is, how fun it is, how great the comp plan is, etc, etc. They seem interested at first (sometimes) but usually run outta steam really fast. WHY??

Why don't they see what I see, you may ask yourself. A couple reasons.

One, most people are comfortable right where they are. They don't have all the great things in life but they are comfortable. They make their bill payments on time (usually), they got their cable t.v., they got some friends living the same way they do. It ain't living in Trump Tower but it's acceptably comfortable.

Two, most people are terrified of change, even if it's change for the better. With change comes unknown situations and most people are content to deal with the mildly crappy life they KNOW they have rather than deal with an unknown that is the result of change. Hence, people are loathe to change.

Steven, once you realize that you can't inject your Desire into people and you won't convince them that your way is best then you are on the right path. Look for people who ARE looking to improve their lot in life. Those people are the ones who WANT to build a business and make changes in their lives. Those kinds of people, like you and me, are rare indeed. But they are also the ones who will eagerly listen to what you have to say.

And just one person like that is worth more than 1000 people you "convinced" to join your opportunity.

Make every day better,

Ben Sharpe

YOu make a good point

It can become very frustrating when people don't see what you see, but ask yourself why should they?

Just because you believe something doesn't make it right. It only makes it right for you. Not everyone working in a job hates it. Some folks don't want the responsibility of being their own boss. They like the security of being paid at the end of every month, and the freedom of being able to switch off from work when they finish their shift. Who are we to say that is wrong?
